I love how you and others seem to gloss over the fact that there was a Democratic Congress under Reagan and Bush Sr. We had Bill Clinton for 8 years with a Democratic Congress for most of the 1st half of his term, and then a Republican Congress for the rest of it.

The core of our economic meltdown is from two pieces of recent legislation, Graham-Leach-Bliley passed in 1999, and the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000.  That would be Republican congess material with Clinton signing it

Both of these took a flawed, long standing Fannie and Freddie busines model, magnified its impact thousandfold, built up a mound of derivatives debt (that is now destroying banks), and sent the risk global.

So like I said, keep on thinking that you're getting a different kind of politics. You're fooling yourself. I myself have become more and more apathetic. I'm just going to sit back and watch it burn.

I agree here.  Obama is hardly a liberal in the context of pattern of governance, let along the socialist that some claim. He is exhibiting 'more of the same' that we have become accustomed to every day.

sluut4Busty -> RE: GOP implosion continues, post-Sarah Palin (7/11/2009 11:35:42 AM)

Only experience Palin had was bankrupting a small town and saying she could see Russia from her house. kekeke

Obama stood up to the scrutinty of the American people and press for over a year. That counts for 10 times more than
her useless so called "executive " experience. lol they had to come up with something right.

Anyway, now we know she crumbled under scrutiny and didn't have the backbone to be able to handle a position like the Vice Presidency.

WE WERE RIGHT. The American people that is that didn't want to vote for an unknown that was never vetted in front of the American people so we could see what she was made of. We got our answer didn't we.

Do you have thoughts?

Like... does anything run through your brain before you post things like this?

How about you actually make some points rather than spouting vague rhetoric with no meaning?

The sky is falling.....the sky is falling.Sheesh your predictions of doom and catastrophe are starting to take on a whole "chicken little" sort of vibe.....perhaps less caffeine?

the meaning is perfectly clear. Too fucking bad if you can't face up to the message.

Your unique combination of cynicism and lack of civility is exceedingly irritating...actually your a completely representative spokesperson for your ideology.

Obviously your meaning is clear. But with out any sort of reason or logic, it makes your point as inane as you appear to be.

So you want me to cut and paste every post Ive made on the issue so you see the reason or logic? Do yourself a favor. As Jim Rome says...have a take or get out...and that doesnt mean a take on other posters.

YoungLust -> RE: GOP implosion continues, post-Sarah Palin (7/11/2009 1:46:56 PM)

No. I'd like any of your posts to have any sane reasoning behind them. Quoting Jim Rome won't help your case at all.

If you're going to make absurd statements, back them up.

If youre going to claim a statement is absurd, back up why.

"And will pay for that answer in the loss of personal freedom and economic chaos for the foreseeable future."

What personal freedoms have we as Americans lost? What civil liberties of be curtailed? Were you whining and complaining when the Patriot Act was passed, which was a sweeping loss of personal freedom?

How is Obama responsible for the economic chaos?  It was collapsing before him and yet based on the six months he's had in office, you've deduced he'll somehow be responsible for "chaos"?

There, that's why your posts are absurd. Now back them up... and change your username... I don't know how you could be anyone's "daddy" while you're still intellectually a child.

Do you understand the meaning of "will"?
The Patriot Act did nothing to the personal freedom of any law abiding citizen. Confiscatory taxes do. Read some Milton Friedman.
I've "deduced" that his policies will be responsible for economic chaos based on years of consulting to private industry and government entities wrt economic forecasting. My minimum billing rate is $10,000 per meeting day. When you can match that in the same business come back and talk to me.

Now instead of just repeating your claim, substantiate it.

"young" is a very fitting name for you given your depth of understanding of how economics affects personal liberty.

If you think he is, I want some of what you're smoking. His policies on gay marriage, gays in the military, drug legalization, etc. aren't different and weren't different during the election from any of the previous Presidents. He is a death penalty supporter. He made a lot of claims about shutting down Guantanamo, but he's backpedaling on that shit. He made claims about a lot of things, that he is now having to be a realist about. So like I said, keep on thinking that you're getting a different kind of politics. You're fooling yourself. I myself have become more and more apathetic. I'm just going to sit back and watch it burn.

What about his economic policies? The massive increase of the deficit? More debt than there is money to support it? Taking over companies, deciding hiring, firing, pay scales and bonuses? Establishing "czars" that are outside the systems of constitutional control? The list goes on. While progressives have always pushed for this, the speed in which we are heading down the road have increased dramatically. So if there is not a difference of direction, there is certainly a difference of scope.

Im having a really hard time reconciling the billing rate in the above statement, with this other statement on another thread

It will take a miraculous deception for Obama to be re-elected. He can no longer pretend that he hasn't taken to heart the philosophies of his radical associaties, and with inflation nearing double digits, the national debt approaching or exceeding 100% of GDP, interest rates in double digits and (if he manages to get a health care plan passed) no improvement in Health Care, and no change in the ME or North Korea he will go the way of Jimmy Carter.

Gee, do you all see double digit inflation?  The only "real" inflation I see in this history was due to $4.00 gas prior to the election.

No, just another one who is asking you to provide proof for your claims, as I did repeatedly on the thread where you stated this, to no avail.

Read the post again and still claim thats what it said.

All of my claims can easily be sourced in readily available economic literature if you have the time, there is nothing unique about them. What IS unique is our propietary forecasting software that provides probabilistic projections of all major economic factors including GDP, inflation, interest rates, and national debt. If you want that information, you can pay for it like everyone else does.
