The hypocrisy has gone beyond the pale so its time to point it out. Conservatives have complained mightily about David letterman's single, probably misinterpreted, joke. Conservatives have complained endlessly about the treatment of Sarah Palin and her children by liberals. Now we can see how conservatives on the Free Republic blog respectfully deal with the spouse and children of a politician. (This is not pleasant so be prepared) http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/7610/missobamaspeaceniktshir.jpg Conservatives might it be wise to clean up your own house before whining about every little event that offends your delicate sensibilities?

lest we forget John McCain's joke about Clintons daughter, and why she is so ugly, because Janet Reno is her father. Now when he told that joke all the elected GOP officials in the room laughed. So they can dish it out but they can't take it

yet, somehow, these kids, on both sides, are pretty amazing. i recall when someone asked Chelsea asked if she thought her mother's credibility was damaged by the Monica Lewinsky scandal. my jaw hit the floor. While yes, she was campaining for her mother at the time, and an adult, somethings should fall into the realm of what is tasteful.. and that definitely wasnt. and it wasnt a reporter who asked. Chelsea's answer, for those who dont recall this incident. quote: "Wow," said Chelsea, "you're the first person actually that's ever asked me that question in the, I don't know, maybe 70 college campuses I've now been to.'' Then, she fired: "And I do not think that is any of your business." The reply drew loud applause. Then, she added, "And I also don't think that should be the last question." She fielded one more, on global warming, and wrapped it up. Quite neatly. Now, THATS a class act!

Something I've noticed often. With a group of liberals, the children are often over indulged brats. With a group of conservatives, the adults are often more childish than the children. Thank goodness I like the middle![:D]

General Reply - Many of the comments on that link are blatantly racist and very nasty. How many people who have to travel on business spend their own money to take family members along so they can have some time together? Chelsea handled that question very well, good for her. And as I have said many times here, the family members of politicians, especially the unmentionables, should be off-limits.

I did like the two links to whines about the same photo. However the first link should have edited the caption out so it wasn't clear the picture was an attack on Palin and had little if anything to do with the baby and also left out the revealing info that the stuffcame from the somethingawful forums. SA is not a liberal or conservative site and viciously attacks anybody that draws their attention. The second manip is sort of an attack against trig, it protrays him as crosseyed, but precisely how is that comparable to calling an 11 year old 'whore' and 'trash?' Furthermore how do you think those two photos compare to the manips posted on Free Republic attacking Michelle and Malia?

I'm having a very strange glitch with your link, Ken, and it is annoying. I don't wish to see these comments so I can defend them, but so I can say they are negative, unwarranted, nasty, vile, or whatever the case may be. In other words, I'm completely prepared to offer the sort of response that I would have expected from decent people on the left regarding the attacks on the Palin clan. The page won't load properly for me though. It starts fine, and I see that it is comments regarding President Obama's daughter in a "peace" t-shirt and shorts, but then it shrinks to an illegible point, and I can't expand it sufficiently to read. Sorry. I can't comment. I believe there is something there that bothers you though. (Whatever the glitch is, it doesn't affect anything else I do on the internet, so please don't suggest I reconfigure anything.)
