What really stands out and makes you contact this person..

It varies from profile to profile. Sometimes it is something in the profile itself (especially if she's young & hot and says age isn't an issue ),
Sometimes something in their journal, sometimes a sweet ass (I once complimented a staright male on his very cute behind), or good set of tits, sometimes just something in their main picture (there is one girl who has a main profile picture wherein her eyes are just so full of sadness, and the whole picture just drips melancholy to the degree one expects from a painting not a photograph. Whenever her profile comes up I find myself gazing at that picture for a few minutes, I CMailed her and told her all that, and wished her well, and we have not communicated since).
So for me, there is no particular rule, it varies with my mood I guess, or perhaps the relative position of the sun and the moon.

Oh hey, I never fell for anything.  I just get sick of deleting and blocking "Alexei" fat fucks hiding behind a bad pic of some poor chick working for them that use up space in my mailbox I prefer to go to actual real CM people.

I'll have to speak to Alexei about that. He knows better...

In the mean time, what attracts me to a profile is something that I would never expect. Pictures aren't a big attraction for me unless they are of the eyes and the eyes along (mostly). Otherwise, a few outlandish or outrageous words and phrases sprinkled within eyeshot of the compressed view draws me in for a closer look.

But the one thing that will almost, always cause me to open up someone's profile fully is purely technological in nature. This site's software doesn't render on my browser very well so about 1/3 of those compressed profile views end up being black text against a black background. The only way to correct that, for me, is to open up to the full profile page which renders normally.

(And no, switching to Firefox isn't an option for me. It's not as fully AppleScriptable as the Cocoa-based browsers I'm using, which is important to me for my workflow. I told you it was a technological reason...)

No need to speak to Alexei, the slavic whale turd works for MY cousins, from THIS time, the other slavs who shall not be named.

But to them, in the Old Language, I say:

"Dobra Dun, mu dobra izgledna UBENTEPASSABUGA!"

Say THAT to your Czech lad next time he pisses you off, Sapatoti.

Just remember to duck fast.

Jonnie's profile grabbed my attention because of his tattoos and the quirky grin in his profile (before he changed names).  I sent him an email complimenting him on his ink (I love tats).

The rest, as they say, is history

HPH pretty much said a big mouthful in his various analyses of what makes a profile pop out . . . . .

The most important thing I look for in a profile, anymore, is their posting history. I'm finding that people display an enormous amount about themselves on the boards, & those who've posted very extensively have laid a lot of themselves out here . . ...

& I have a strong preference for those who can focus on the positive. Bitching, whining, whinging, complaining are all big turn-offs for me. I'm into tolerance & appreciation & patience & adaptability . . . . . .

I agree with you Kia, about the boards being a damn good place to learn about our fellow CMers.

This I absolutely have to agree with.  I don't do much cruising on profiles on the other side, so any looking I might do is usually inspired by something written on the forums.  To be honest, that's how I'd rather get to know someone anyway.

plus the pic.

the profle alone would not "warrant" that (pun intended).

of course now if someone messages me from Lagos or Czech Republic I don't even bother to look. We all know why.

Thanks a lot HPH. Believe it or not, most families of women I date dig me. I even had a girl's father offer me land and a house once if I married his daughter. Of course he and his Costa Rican wife were deeply religious, and they wanted me to be married to their daughter since we were already fooling around. But they were nice to me.

well you seem worth it and very on the level (versus on the Level, ha ha).

"Bitching, whining, whinging, complaining are all big turn-offs for me. I'm into tolerance & appreciation & patience & adaptability . . . . . . "

see, I just can't roll with that, because if I did roll with that, and people rolled with that 20 years ago, we'd have no Blackadder Seasons 2 and 3.  I mean Edmund wouldn't really exist.

I mean I'd rather listen to ten hours straight of Don Rickles than ten minutes of the most beautiful Hippie in the world sing Hare Krishna.  But that's me.

yeah, Tony was effin' great, and I saw a bit of Lone Tone in slaveboy too (albeit  bit butch-er).

GREAT jawlines on both men!

also, Tone aged VERY well.

well, it's Tony AND a better looking version of the Responsible Friend to House Doctor character in House, around the eyes (I stress BETTER looking).

very good hairline too, good texture on the follicles, they catch the light well.

excelent pic for a profile, all round (see how we work hat circle to get right back on topic?)
