That seems like a real long shot to me. Obama has enough political enemies that if his citizenship were in any way questionable, it would've been an issue long ago.

Birth within the territory of the USA is all it takes to be one of you guys. I suppose there is comic relief to be found in this ridiculous 'story' [X(] .

Actually this is quite shameful...a Major in The United States Army is trying to avoid deployment to a hazardous station.....and dressing it up in this fashion.Shameful....at best,downright cowardice from a professional soldier at worst.

Nothing is next for the Armed Forces as a whole. The guy is fucking idiot. He is a Major, he knows better. He doesn't want to go to Afghanistan, so he trying this bullshit in the slim hope he gets discharged. If you don't want to get sent overseas to war zones, don't join up. It's that simple.

My first thought from your snippet was that we had yet another enlistee who decided, after he had signed the contract and taken the oath, that he really didn't want to be in the Army/other branch, and was going to sue his way out, based on a head full of barracks bullshit. Nope I hope the major enjoys the other-than-Afghanistan duty station that is found for him while his case is pending. If he doesn't like his CIC, he should resign. I also hope this backfires on him badly. It stinks of mutiny.

If he really wants to get out, he can start drinking heavily. It gets you out everytime, with a nice vacation at a rehab. [:D]. Note: I stress drinking not drugs. Drugs will get you a general discharge, which doesn't look good. But hell, a drinking problem will get sympathy and an honorable. He's grasping at straws with this bullshit, and he should know better. I'm guessing he wants to keep his commission without having to go to Afghanistan. Like I said, a drinking problem is his best bet. [8D]

Well, give the idiot extra points for creativity. In the event that Obama were for any reason found to be unable to serve, then Joe Biden becomes President. Very simple. So we have a valid President in office whichever way. Not that the identity of the President affects his obligation to serve.
