Orly Taitz, asks the court to consider granting his client's request based upon Cook's belief that President Barrack Obama is not a natural-born citizen of the United States and is therefore ineligible to serve as commander-in-chief of U.S Armed Forces.
Hmmm....Obama has been in office since January and this is just come up since Cook is up for deployment. It would seem to me if he was sincere in his criticism of Obama he would have had an issue immediately, since Obama is the commander and chief and Cook is serving under him no matter where he is.

Funny, since January Mr Cook has no problem collecting a paycheck for the service under the man he now refuses to serve under.

I tend to agree, holly. Its not race.. its simply the fact that he didnt want to go.. and this is his excuse for not going.

He could just be nuts...like a lot of the political fanatics here on cm...It is one thing to follow an ideology and another to follow it blindly with a closed mind.

If he didn't want to go... then why did he volunteer in the first place?
If he didn't want to go, then why not simply ask to be sent elsewhere?
If he didn't want to go, why not say he was C.O.?

Why bring up this whole dead "brith certificate issue?"

Why try to kick up a shitstorm in the media by claiming the COMMANDER IN CHIEF is not actually the POTUS?

Why go to a lawyer who has tried to kick up this said shitstorm repeatedly with spurious lawsuits?

Why go to a lawyer who has connections to racist organizations?

Mars, cowardice transcends boundaries of race.

I'm wondering who approached who? Did this guy approach the lawyer or did the lawyer try to use him as a patsy to puch his agenda and maybe make a quick buck? Either way, this loser needs to be booted and recieve no benefits as his reward for his reprehensible behavior.

For that very reason, I hope nothing ever happens to Pres. Obama..Biden is an idiot..

I think that Biden was chosen because of that very quality ;)

Not to mention Pelosi and Reed are right behind Biden.....  B.O. looks like a genius compared to the three of them.

Of course, that reminds me of the riddle last year:

What does Hillary want for Christmas?  A revolver with 5 rounds....

General reply....

He could be thinking.....'fuck this I don't want to die'....which is fairly human....and he could be thinking 'fuck what a few message board scoundrels think; I'm not dying for them'....which is fairly human...

You lot should queue up to take his place.

The horrors!!!!The lot of us offended that a Major in The U.S. Army is trying to avoid movement to a hazardous duty posting by questioning the very legitamcy of his elected President.Where the fuck do we get our nerve?

really? Then he should have bailed when troops first started being deployed.  Instead he hung in there, collected all the benefits and paychecks until he was called up.

He's just a bloke and some people have decided to put a cross in the box at the expense of another bloke....."his elected President"...sounds like some pope/god bollocks.

Maybe he's just thinking: "well I don't fancy dying much and this is my way out". Can't blame him. You should take his place. What's good for the goose is good for the gander? Or is it a case of posturing in cyber land?

In my opinion the timing of his questioning shoots his credibility in the ass.

If he did not want to take orders from Obama he should have said so in January.

why should we? We are not in the military. We did not choose to make it our career with the knowledge we would be deployed if so needed.
None of us receive a paycheck for service.

He needs to shut the fuck up and do the job he is trained and paid to do

He's a career soldier, who to avoid deployment is trying to pull out of a contract he has up to this point reaped the benifits of .Taking his place isn't on my dance card(what would they do with a 50 y/o broken down man?)Now with your permission(oh what the fuck,I could care less about your opinion)I will keep posturing in cyber land.

He wants out. Why he should he have to stay because you say so - surely individual sovereignty is paramount (or is he owned by the state)? Would you stay in a job you had no interest in?

If it's so important to some on here then take his place or send your husband - simple. It's easy to be philosophical when someone else is doing the dying for you.

subrob1967 -> RE: Refusal to serve.. whats next for the Armed Forces (7/17/2009 3:13:40 PM)

You guys do realize that the Major is in the Army Reserve, and not the U.S. Army, right?

Why is it ok for contentious objectors to desert and run off to Canada, but not ok for the Major to challenge Obammy?

This wouldn't even be an issue if Obammy would just release his records, he's spending an awful lot of time & money hiding his past.

Use you to clear land mines? Generous benefits......and you can sign a contract........and they'll scoop up your mush of a body after you've been blown into oblivion and put you in a small brown bag to be burried in some field in a god forsaken shit hole country thousands of miles away........and they'll send a letter back to your wife: "he died a hero's death".....which is fairly fuckin' useless to you when you're dead.

Yeah and this bloke has chosen to not go the same way. Can't blame him for wanting to stay alive.
