I do hope he gets his way...I don't know about the rest of you but I would not want to serve under his command. I do worry about the Army that a person of his integrity managed to reach his rank.

He is either a coward or a man, which seems to be common in politics today, that values a political ideology more than duty to his country. If we all decided we did not need to serve our country because it did something politically contrary to our beliefs we would be defenseless.

If you check the archives of the Hawaiin papers from the week after Obama's birth you will find 2 seperate birth announcements in 2 distinct papers. It ha sbeen established that both papers got the details for their birth announcements from local hospitals with maternity wards and from no other sources. Therefore Obama was born in Hawai'ui by both those lines of evidence independent of his birth certificate which also proves conclusively that he was born in Hawai'i.

I find it particularly sad that people refuse to examine the actual evidence to establish that the 'birthers' are lying.

Do I believe is is or was born in this country, NOT A CHANCE....just shows what money can do!

This issue was settled long ago.  I would do the research for you but it is too ridiculously easy for you to prove yourself wrong.

Arpig -> RE: Refusal to serve.. whats next for the Armed Forces (7/14/2009 9:33:35 PM)

His mother was an American citizen at the time of his birth, so the place of his birth is irrelevant. He is a natural born citizen by virtue of his mother's citizenship. That is unless I have misread the laws in place at the time.

A little challenge....for those who believe he is NOT a natural born US citizen, present some proof, some evidence. If you cannot do so, and cannot disprove the evidence presented for his being a natural born citizen then shut the fuck up. If you can, then we will all join you in your efforts to have him removed from office.

That's what I've always found especially ludicrous about this particular conspiracy theory. The newspapers - are we to believe that the editors of the papers got together and said, "Hmmm... there's a  kid who was born in Kenya who may want to be president someday, so he's going to need a little help. Let's make up stories about him being born in Hawaii!"  How dumb does someone have to be to believe this shit?

Deeply and profoundly so.

FR:

Y'know I didn't vote for the man. I am not a fan of his. I figured he'd be more of the same we've had over the last few decades. But even I don't buy into this non-citizen horse shit. Like it or not, he's our President. I don't expect much from him, but I didn't expect much from GWB in 2000. Forget parties, we have had populist Presidents since Nixon. Don't expect changes anytime soon. I don't care what party they claim, they are all the same.

Dam why didn't I think of that when I was in the military, I could have just found a lousy lawyer and said I do not think the President is fit to serve or an American.

Crap, I never would have been sent to Germany, never would have found the Bitburger brewery, never would have gotten the chance to fly an F-15, hell I could have stayed home and just got drunk in college like all my friends

When will this BS die, you would think people would know by now it's BS, but Nooooo...

Obama's mother was born in Kansas. As the child of a US citizen he is a US citizen with all rights due a citizen of this country. It doesn't matter where he was born.

The Naturalization Act of 1795 says that foreign-born children of American parents "shall be considered as citizens of the United States." His mother is a citizen. He qualifies.
This is a ploy by someone who has lost their nerve and it is outright cowardice. It is a stain on the reputation of good soldiers and should earn this major a dishonorable discharge for cowardice. See. No deployment and no gain from it. And no soldiers put in danger by a coward who has lost the nerve to do their job.

slvemike4u -> RE: Refusal to serve.. whats next for the Armed Forces (7/15/2009 4:58:52 PM)

Its July 2009,I attended the Inauguration in Jan.2009...the man has been President for 6 mos. and people still need to be disabused of this shit?
Why?....Quite frankly if they haven't figured it out yet,if they haven't accepted the man is sitting in the Oval Office......fuck 'em!

pogo4pres -> RE: Refusal to serve.. whats next for the Armed Forces (7/15/2009 5:01:42 PM)

Not a dishonorable just a "general - under other than honorable conditions" will suffice to fuck up this guys post military career.  A "UOTHC" is almost as bad as a dishonorable

slvemike4u -> RE: Refusal to serve.. whats next for the Armed Forces (7/15/2009 5:11:00 PM)

The French used to do a nice little "seperation"ceremony.....do we have anything with that sort of pomp and derision?
If not perhaps we can speak to the French about appropriating theirs.....What do you say Kittin, can we use it?

slvemike4u -> RE: Refusal to serve.. whats next for the Armed Forces (7/16/2009 1:47:07 AM)

Not sure tha's the "ceremony" I had in mind Kittin, must you be so bloodthirsty?
No,I was referring to a simple seperation(not that kind) ceremony where an officer is drummed out  of service and stripped of his insignias and such....yanno they then break his sword...like in the Dreyfus affair(I seen it in a movie...lol).

MarsBonfire -> RE: Refusal to serve.. whats next for the Armed Forces (7/16/2009 5:38:48 AM)

So... it turns out the major is not being SENT to service in Afgahastan, but rather volunteered for it. So, the military granted his request to not be sent there... oh, and BTW, since Orly convinced this racist  schmuck to sue, and he was working for them, the US military has kicked him off all their properties. i.e. he has now lost his job.

Once again, you guys can try to gloss over this whole "birth certificate" issue, however you like. At the base of it is nothing more than simple bigotry and racisim. You are NOT helping your views by wailing about this when we can all read between the lines, and see why it is you refuse to accept him as President.

The Archie Bunker nutjobs just won't go away.

tazzygirl -> RE: Refusal to serve.. whats next for the Armed Forces (7/16/2009 7:01:34 AM)

There is no birth certificate issue. They can say there is... but.. as i have pointed out... its a foolish argument that no one takes much notice of. Is this guy racist? I dont know, and i cant say yet. there is no proof in evidence that he is. maybe the major changed his mind about going? maybe the wife threatened to leave if he did? he can have all the reasons why he wants to go, and most of the would have nothing to do with race. before we pull out that trump card, shouldnt we wait to see what the motive is first?

Irishknight -> RE: Refusal to serve.. whats next for the Armed Forces (7/16/2009 7:30:10 AM)

To jump to the conclusion that this coward is racist is ridiculous. Its actually racism in and of itself to assume that everything is due to his race. There are so many other reasons for people to be morons. Its not always racism.
