With regard to the bottom side of the slash... I wouldn't call said subs fake, just clueless to think this type of introductory communication is in ANY way reasonable.  From the Toppy side of the slash, yeah... I'd, personally, call them a "fake" Dom.

It's one thing once there's been an established agreement that one is Top and the other is bottom, and whatever their particular kink may be.  However, if that agreement (i.e., consent) has not been given, then to approach another in this way makes the assumption on the Toppy person's part that the bottom is both (i) theirs (owned), and (ii) given consent.

Any and everyone that I have not had the priveledge to play with is a fake and a wannabe.
Why?
Because until I, personally, have experienced them...I have nothing on which to base my opinions, thoughts, ideas, or judgements. [:)]

All too often, fake, wannabe, etc, etc are thrown about simply because a person does things differently from the way you would ( you being a general term ). Out of fear; we automatically start calling them fakes and wannabe's. What we don't realize is that the same people that we are throwing those labels at, are throwing the same labels back at us for the same reason.

I know you driected this at theDark, but I am going to respond.

I suspect she meant that she hadn't replied to your earlier jab, because she considered you "already down and out" as in out for the count, therefore she didn't reply to you because she doesn't believe in kicking people who are "already down and out", and therefore didn't reply to you.

Second. the mocking minorities bit, perhaps another quote is in order...

The line about being in the welfare line and wanting sympathy is most probably what she was referring to. Sooo... subs who fall for that dreck (personal opinion there) because they don't know any better aren't fake, but Doms who shovel it because they don't know any better are? Nice double standard you've got going there.

That said, the original point stands. Some subs who are experienced and know what they are doing will respond to, if not revel in, this approach. It certainly isn't for me, but I'm not one who feels a need decide what is "reasonable" for everyone, and the delete and block buttons are accessable to all.

I woke up thinking about this post. The orginal OP had started an intelligent question which I would like to hear others opinions. Unfortunately there was one who felt their mission was to trash everyone. Could we start over on the OP, and perhaps just hide him, so we do not need to feed into one who is so insulting?

As I stated in an earlier post, I am sure there are all types of people who have some degree of interest in BDSM. Some might not have the degree of knowledge as others, and imho time brings knowledge, as well as making mistakes so we can learn. I am sure, as we have seen, there are those who from other countries use this site to get money, and they use other sites and means too. Nothing fake about them, they are experts in conning people. It would help to remember to give people a helping hand in learning and being respectful is a good thing. I for one do tend to find that difficult with those entering a form of a lifestyle, if they are not humble. I though have learned to let it slide.

Anyways this is a good topic, please let's not let one person derail it.

Good point, though I think the problem is there is a difference between wanna be something and then doing the job to become it, and just stay a wanna be forever. I think it is there the problem lies.

1.  It's the ref that decided who is down and out.  Give me a minute to find my tacky polyester striped shirt.
2.  You mocked a pretty significant minority.  The people on welfare.  The majority of Americans do not receive public assistance.  The breakdown of percentage of recipients by race is irrelevant.

And let me add 3:
The racist argument is a strawman.  Grow up.  If you want to talk racism, go to stormfront, and I will be happy to debate you there.  This forum is no haven for racists, and even a simpleton would realize that in about ten minutes.

No. If an alleged Dom sends an introductory, "On your knees, cunt... I'm now your Master!" communication, that is NOT someone who simply "doesn't know any better"... that's an idoit who could care less... an HNG.  Anyone with a brain (let alone an adult) would know you don't communicate with someone like that. On the sub side... first, I'd guess there are very, very few who would ever fall for that crap... just read some profiles of a few self-proclaimed "newbies" and most comment on this very type of email being inappropriate.  For those newbies that do fall for it (initially), it only takes one email from someone who doesn't address them this way for the light bulb to go off.  Yet... the alleged Doms that send these types of communication never learn; they just keep sending the same type of insulting communications and form letters.  It's silly, at best, to afford any idiot sending a "Cunt... you're now my owned property!" type of email any sympathy for "not knowing any better".  A child knows not to address someone that way.
