Angel, quit being so overly sensitive and reactionary. If you will go back and re-read my post you will note something I put in there very specifically. There is a vast difference between people that physically LIVE their lives according to a gorean philosophy and those that do nothing more than sit at a keyboard and type flowery make believe and call it being gorean. One I have no problem with, the other is ridiculous bullshit.

Merc, You are just a class act but done in a charmingly innapropriate and irreverant way! Kane won't support NCSF for some reason as I already checked and if this has the potential for a fundraiser that I think it does (Rover already offered to fly Leonidas to Sacramento) as well as those who already want tickets, I want to make sure we maximize the possibilities and publicity. You know, three out of three with quarter staffs over a pool of water actually sounds fun, plenty of potential for injury but great fun for all involved, I am up for it but I doubt it would work for Leonidas but who knows. Its in LA not far from where Leonidas lives, I don't mind the six hour drive and it solves one of my biggest issues which is if one of us doesn't make it, a formal event at a playspace is going to get seriously pissed as well as how to deal with the money raising aspects. If you are really up for it, I think your offer is beyond perfect! Dips on the spare room if we do it there! Sorry Wyld...but I called it! LOL... But I love the idea of a bug slave but perhaps that should be the role of the loser of the competition?

BEcause many online roleplaying sites have men fighting whether it be SCA or some online fight game etc that have NOTHING to do with Gor. I guess its convenient when you have Gor around to forget what non-Gorean men do with all the computer games etc. I guess its ONLY online roleplaying of GOR that shows the more primal side of Men. Angel, If you want to assume I meant something I didn't, go for it. I fully intended to make a delineation between "real time" and "online gaming" and in my opinion I did. Unplug the technology and see how well you do. I watched a movie called Defiance the other night. Some displaced Jews were hiding in the forest, and the men were taking what they called "Forest Wives". In one scene a woman goes to one of the biggest men and says she wants a gun, he states to her that the gun are for the men. She says that she wants a gun to defend herself. He states that men are there to protect the women. She then looks at him and says "then I want protection.". It is a classic example that in general, once we strip away the rule of law and technology, that most women must look to men for protection. It is an evolutionary thing in most women. This does not mean all women, but a large portion. Some of the stories that came out of Katrina showed this as well. If you are a female that can actually protect yourself, then great, but it has been my experience that many say they can but have never been placed into the situation where they have to. In today's society many females are drawn to men who have more material possesions, and can manage wealth well. This is just a reflection of most females seeking security for themselves, and their offspring. It is an obvious bio-truth that many can deny, but when put into an actual circumstance nature tends to show the natural stratification. What you call juvinile is a male thing about protecting and defending what they see as theirs. Most women do not understand it, and they are not supposed to. Just like many men cannot understand a female wanting a man that has the ability to physically protect them, but then does not want them to be involved in anything that may hurt the man. As one of the organizers of this pathetic little circus I want to make one comment. While I understand why many of you object to this it does have a point. Merc and I used to argue politics all the time and frankly when I saw his posts about relationship things I thought he was a bit full of shit. Then we met and well I consider him a very very dear friend. I was able to look the man in the eye and see him put his words into action, see him live as he says he does. If we both show up, think how much less drama we will see on these boards. The reality is that if we both show up, that alone is enough to change our opinions of each other. As someone said at one point, the fight is almost ritualistic even if it is bloody serious. I frankly don't care about the winning or losing part. I can't loose in any real sense of the word. I showed up is what matters. Take Leonida's name, that Greek isn't famous for winning, he was brave enough to fight a losing battle knowing he would lose going in. What we will gain is a mutal respect for each other and frankly, that is more than I have for most of the people posting in this thread.

Merc, we are trying to work it out in September, and yes that not only means Folsom but the big Master/Slave conference in DC. Since Rick and Tina and many of my friends will be in DC I hope to arrange it around those events. I can't do it sooner as summer school is just too insense to come down.

-fast reply- There seems an unusually large consensus around here that men with broad physical might capable of facilitating their strength are viewed as immature and intellectually inferior. I'll be sure to inform my old Recon Teams, many members of which are university honor grads. The same type of men that watch over the small school rooms in remote areas of Afghanistan where women are given a chance to study. Women that understand and don’t take for granted the strength and abilities of good strong and intelligent men. For those of you defending men that don’t need to use physical prowess; don’t worry those of us you see as Neanderthal like Ogres most likely don’t want a thing your men have anyway.
