Well, America didn't vote "w" in the first time, his brother pulled the strings. I think "w" used "scare tactics" first, with the never ending war he got the country in. Now how's this for a "catch - 22,": My friend has cancer, had surgery. Can't get a job because of the pre existing condition due to the insurance rules. He has a hernia now, which is another pre existing condition and kidney damage due to all the medicine he took. So, what advice do you offer him? He wants to work and not collect from the goverment but what is he to do?

Remember this when you get sick and no one will hire you and you have no insurance!

Since 1968, only 3 presidents have been democrates.

In an earlier post, the term "scare tactic" was used to describe the care bill. I just wanted folks to be reminded where the term was used to it's fullest extent.......

I will quit listening to Hannity and Rush when those on the loonie left give up PBS....

Loony? Considering that people whose primary news source is PBS are consistently found to be better informed than those who get their news from any other source, it calls into question your definition of "loony."

He would like a bi-partisan bill. That way he can blame the republicans when it goes down in flames.

And what have they proposed?

Oh! I know, wait until we get Palin up to speed??

While House Republican leaders blast away at the Democratic health care reform legislation, the GOP has yet to reveal its own alternative legislation.

“We continue to work on our bill, as Democrats are working on their bill,” House Minority Leader John Boehner told reporters Monday.

Boehner released a four-page outline of a bill a little more than a month ago, but he has yet to release a full-fledged alternative Republican bill — as he said he would do when he unveiled the plan in June.

Boehner, meanwhile, continued to hammer away at Democratic leaders just as they were preparing to huddle with rank-and-file members for a five-hour meeting to discuss the health care legislation.

Democrats had set a self-imposed deadline of passing legislation before breaking for the August recess later this week — a goal that appears increasingly unlikely.

“I think as Americans have found out about this bill, the less they like it,” Boehner said. “I think as more Americans find out about this bill during the August recess … they’re not going to like it.”

We have the best healthcare in the world and lower mortality rates for most cancers and other diseases than the rest of the world, but hey. Let's just throw that out the window!

Why do people in other countries not want us to pass this? Because they come here to get good healthcare.

Huh?

"The U.S. ranks 42nd in the world for low infant mortality [25] 46th in life expectancy, between Cyprus and Denmark,[26] and 37th in health system performance, between Costa Rica and Slovenia.[27"  (From the  Wikipedia article below cited by Sanity.)

I was corrected this morning so I now know that only 37 other nations in the world provide better health care than the US.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single-payer_health_care

You do realize that wikipedia is only as good as the people writing the information there and it is not fact based it is opinion based. Sure they try to clean it up now and then but it is written by people.

And if you think there are 37 other countries in the world with better healthcare than the US, go live and die there because that is what will happen.

You dont have the answers, yet, criticize those who are at least tryinng. you didnt vote for the man, and you sure wont support his efforts in any way at all. you are entitled to your opinion, as i am mine. if you arent part of the solution, you are part of the problem. the issue is more than a few months old. finally we got someone in office with enough gumption to actually try. and i think thats more of the problem than anything else.

Even if it means bankrupting this country or taxing the wealthy to death. Last time I checked, it was the wealthy in this country that provided the jobs.

The only reason he wants to try to do the wrong thing is for the power it will give him. He is a arrogant nariccistic man who needs to go! He is destroying this country faster than you libs can ever imagine.

I laugh at how you will defend everything he does and get mad if someone says something negative about him but yet it was okay with all the libs to bash the hell out of Bush.

You libs are funny!

and you are part of the problem as well. "oh my, dont mess with what i got" well, i hope they do mess with it. its fraught with fraud... and it desperately needs an overhaul.. which is what the Blue Dogs were pushing for. again, saying you dont have the answers but you "dont feel" this is the solution.... part of the problem. nothing so far that has been pushed to the table has worked. but, if the party you people actually liked were to have promoted this, it would be acceptable.

people are actually sick of being told to wait. people are plain sick. we dont have medicare to fall back on, and we probably never will. so sit back and collect your checks, and enjoy your insurance.

America is tired of being raped and told to like it.

And now we are getting gang banged by Obama and his cronies. Leave healthcare alone and target TORT REFORM! But that is the holy grail or 3rd wire of this libs. They won't touch that because too many of them suck off that teet to get rich and then tell everyone else what to do.

And don't say anything negative about Obama. That is against the law!

That's the trouble with getting all your information from talk radio shows.

You need to quit talking out of your butt. You don't know where I get my information. I do know what I see this man doing to this country and it is a shame that more Americans don't see it. He is repeating history from the past and so are the liberal sheep in this country.

Right. Just like the reason the "librul media" is fueling rumors that Obama is not legally qualified to be president is to make him look good. You really need to find some different radio stations to listen to; the ones you're getting this shit from are making you look pretty bad.

And your ignorance and Obama worship make you look stupid

Officials see US economic growth in 2nd half
NEW YORK (AFP) – Top administration officials said Sunday US economic growth is highly likely to resume in the second half of the year, following a narrower-than-expected contraction in the second quarter.
"The great, great likelihood is that we'll see growth going forward in the second half of the year," White House economic adviser Larry Summers said in an interview with NBC television

Another Obama spinmeister at work. Just like they said we wouldn't have over 8% unemployment if we passed the Spendulus bill. Well we all know that was a lie. And where is all the money from the Spendulus bill? Less than 10% has been spent. What are they waiting for? I have a good idea, return it to where we borrowed it, cancel the bill and move on!

This is Panda's second post today in which he worried openly that people may be listening to radio stations he disapproves of, and I doubt he has any reason to believe they were listening to the radio at all. All I'm saying is that, if he really thinks radio is so dangerous he might be a lot happier in a place like Venezuela where opposition voices are being shut down - especially on TV and radio.

Whether I approve or disapprove of a radio station isn't the issue, and i don't worry one way or the other about what people I've never met listen to on the radio.  It has nothing to do with freedom of speech - a radio station has the right to broadcast whatever crazy bullshit they want to broadcast. Nor did I say anything about radio wackoes being dangerous. The point I'm making in those posts is, if someone chooses to listen to radio stations that spread lies and lunatic conspiracy theories, they shouldn't be surprised if other people think they sound uninformed or mentally unsound when they repeat the lies and the crazy fantasies as fact. Or if people laugh at them instead of taking them seriously.

And because you don't agree with the views presented they are wackos and full of lies and lunatic conspiracy theories and they sound mentally unsound or uninformed.

Maybe you should look in a mirror. Maybe your the one that fits those descriptions.

Then you'd better check again, and come back when you know what you're talking about. The majority of jobs in this country (apprxomately 75%) are created by small businesses, according US Small Business Administration.

This is hilarious.  One republican/conservative cites a wikipedia article as primary authority; gets the same article in the back of his head and then tries to "impeach his own witness." Another republican/conservative who apparently doesn't pay attention to the goings on then in effect criticizes his co conspirator in crime with a horrible pick of primary material.  Do you two also  have a song and dance routine? Oh, I do appreciate your telling me that people wrote the article.  Here I thought a gerbil wrote it.   Maverick, start walking.   Sanity, chew gum.  This is a genuine "twofer."

and why do you want Tort reform? do you honestly see that as an answer to the health problem in this country? im sure you and those of your ilk would.

so kick back, and watch what happens. the long ride of the right wing is over.

These are the same wealthy that decide to hire no one full time, thus being allowed to deny them benefits, including helath care, or offering only sick benefits, thus refusing them the option of preventative care. no thank you.

The top 1 percent in 2005 were those households with income of at least $307,500, and they got 18.1 percent of all "comprehensive" income, which includes all cash income plus the cash value of such benefits as Medicare and food stamps.

http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/what_percent_of_taxes_does_the_top.html

Im gonna tell you... thats a fucking lot of money attributed to 1%... and i have no doubt that didnt include those bonuses so many are now whining that they didnt get.

so while you settle back and complain that you may lose a few dollars because your taxes have gone up... then you should also remember that businesses had the opportunity to get it right.

i recall when my grandfather died. he was burned badly, developed lukemia and died from complications. well, we were outside his hospital room, the Dr had just pronounced him dead. and along came the corportate guys. seems they were there to get grandpa to sign his life insurance paperwork. one stayed outside with us, another went into his room. when he came back out, they spoke to grandma, gave their condolences, said "it was a good thing we were able to get here in time for his signature Mrs... " and they left.

was a time when company loyalty meant something. when workers would do anything and everything for bosses like this. no longer. people are tired of being screwed. their families are hurting. want to piss off a man badly enough to fuck over corporate america? mess with his family. and thats just what happened. no longer matters what party was at fault. the public no longer cares.
