First it was Treasure, and now you. I agree with you 100% that the present plan is not what is needed, however we disagree 100% as to what is needed.[:D]

Video of the not beating of Kenneth Gladney
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTXBOgPCh9w&feature=player_embedded

Gladney is now claiming to be so injured that he needs a wheelchair, despite not being visibly mussed or limping after the incident. Actually it appears he was there as an agent provacatuer. Notice that his now attorney, the guy shouting about how the SEIU member is going to jail, was with him during the incident (which makes him ethically and legally ineligible to represent Gladney).

I couldn't, in all good conscience, say that.  I honestly don't know what you believe is needed, and I know I haven't said what I think.

Perhaps we agree more than you think?

1. The video starts after the fight has already started.

2. What evidence do you have that he is any kind of provocateur.

3. The SEIU guys were arrested. In fact, only supporters of the bill were arrested for misconduct, including a women who claims to work for Carnahan, who seems to have a much better claim to being a provocateur.

4. I'm certainly glad you know who his lawyer is, and can identify him by face in the video. I'm also glad that you know the law so well that you think your opinion is better than any lawyers. Lawyers are such ignorant putzs.

Arpig,

As Treasure has said, you might be surprised what we think is needed.

I'm definitely not a fan of the insurance companies. Not in any shape form or fashion, and if the plan was a rational address to the multiple problems with US Health Insurance companies, I'd be screaming for the plan.

I've got some great stories about why I hate them. I've even testified in front of a State Banking and Insurance joint committee on exactly why I hate them.

The next day, my insurance company illegally canceled half of my employee's coverage in retribution.

I had a great case to sue an insurance company. Every single lawyer I talked to (including the state government's insurance ombudsman) agreed. Out of the 20 or so lawyers that said this, not a single one was willing to actually file a lawsuit, however. Unless I was willing to put up at least a couple of million dollars, and expect to wait about 10 years for any kind of judgment.

Protect the insurance companies? Me? HA!

kitten, Have I told you lately that I love you?

Anger is a natural reaction when you find that your friends and family are being swindled and lied to.

Okay: I want barricades. I want bricks flying. I want a revolution, because otherwise it means that you don't mean what you're saying.

Not lately, Sanity. It's overdue, but oh, so welcome. Love, from you especially, is always more than welcome :-) .

I wish we could distant ourselves from emotions and feelings when cartesian thinking is what's needed.

Sanity -> RE: Real Astroturf vs. The Fake Stuff (8/10/2009 7:15:38 AM)

Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer are saying in an Op/Ed piece in the USA Today that protesters are un-American.

The mental patients who are currently running the show are everything that the Left accused Bush of being, times ten.

Sanity -> RE: Real Astroturf vs. The Fake Stuff (8/10/2009 7:27:35 AM)

I can't help myself, kitten - because when you write of barricades, and of bricks flying, and of revolution, my mind naturally flies straight to France, which is so, overwhelmingly romantic!

And so I picture myself there... just you, and me, a tiny cup of very bitter coffee, and endless revolution.

Well, I  thought I had made that abundantly clear, but just to make sure I will state it outright[:)]. The only option that will actually reslove the problems in the US health care system is a government run single-payer system along the general lines of the Canadian system.
Its true you have not stated what you think, and I was making assumptions, but based on my position and you and Firm`s general political leanings, you can see how I might make that assumption.

But as both of you have said, I might be surprised at what you think is needed, and I agree, you two have surprised me in the past, and I really should know better than to just assume things or to try to fit either of you into a left-right sort of pigeon hole, my apologies.

Why ... of course not. When the left does it, it is community organizing, you silly rabbit.

tazzygirl -> RE: Real Astroturf vs. The Fake Stuff (8/10/2009 10:06:35 AM)

This organization is all about fund raising.. not getting involved with hasseling those they are hoping to milk for money.

mnottertail -> RE: Real Astroturf vs. The Fake Stuff (8/10/2009 10:09:19 AM)

Well, moveon.org can no longer be a whinging point for neo-cons, as usual, there are no new ideas over that side and so they are grabbing old time democratic ones.

LOL,
Ron

Well, actually that ad seems to be for a door-to-door fundraising job. Nothing to do with organizing anything really.
