Reigna may not be able to fathom 'total surrender' as a sub may feel it because she's a dominant, not a submissive, Noreen. Dominants see such phrases much more literally, I've noticed, than subs will use them. Given that one still has power while one remains alive, 'total surrender' might even imply the sub's death. That's not so silly as it sounds, given that on another thread, recently, certain dommes have been talking about the desire to eat their subs.
