StellaSupreme -> not another tribute thread (8/20/2009 7:12:45 AM)

Sorry if I'm dragging this out, I've just seen a lot of threads here address this, and I get TONS of angry emails about it. Dudes calling me a gold digger, whore, fancy prostitute, etc. I don't solicit or seek out slaves on Collarme, I only respond to inquiries. I've tried making my profile as non bait-n-switchy as possible.

If men are sore about tributes, why are they talking to Pro's? I'm just saying - I wouldn't call a therapist, schedule an appointment, and then expect a free session based on my looks and charm. I'd call a friend who will listen to my problems for free.

Is it really that offensive for a pro to advertise her services on CM?

A feeling of entitlement.

I happen to believe that everyone has a right to a relationship.  That said, a relationship requires effort and, unlike a can of soup in the grocery store, a life partner DOES have a say in whether she will hook up with a man or not.

So... if a man cannot get a suitable life partner (e.g., the fifty year old man who posted here wanting a young and attractive Domme to cuckold him), he's going to have to pay.

Resenting the whole shebang because a man demands more than is realistic is immature.  Unfortunately for you, you're the one that gets blamed.

SomethingCatchy -> RE: not another tribute thread (8/20/2009 7:54:40 AM)

It's offensive to them, and instead of realizing that the world does not revolve around them and their interests, they complain and throw tantrums like children. Be thankful their true colors come through before you waste any more time on them.

I never got th feeling that people posting about being upset with a tribute, was aimed at Pros. That is a different story. There are alot of non pro Dommes who require a tribute on the site, I believe that i what the majourity of the problems were with it.

undergroundsea -> RE: not another tribute thread (8/20/2009 9:18:38 AM)

The word tribute is used broadly: it is used to describe the fee a professional domme might charge, and it is used to describe material offerings in a non-professional relationship. Speaking for myself, when the relationship is clearly defined as a business relationship, I have no issue with tribute. I expect that in some discussions the objections you see about tribute are directed at non-professional scenarios.

I do not have a strong opinion about advertising for professional services in personals. Other social networking sites allow profiles for businesses, bands and the like and I accept the same in collarme. I had created a profile for a local bdsm group on collarme at one time. Some people might, however, object to the idea of advertising for professional services in what they consider to be a site only for personal ads.

Cheers,

Sea

A pro who says she's a pro - which you clearly do - is well within TOS and good ethical conduct in providing a fair and honest service.  "Stealth pros" who lead a guy on, pretending a personal interest, then demand "tribute", are extremely offensive and unethical.

Don't feel bad.  I've never asked for a penny from a guy nor any sort of gift, and when I had an active profile, I got called all sorts of names just because I wasn't interested in the person who wrote to me.  As annoying as these people are, your only recourse is to block and delete.

Something just occured to me as I read this. The very names the OP is getting insulted by, are the same ones that subs enjoy being called...LMAO.

Lockit -> RE: not another tribute thread (8/20/2009 10:08:27 AM)

Slaveboy, that is often true and some will call you them just to get you to call them the names. It's a vicious cycle. lol I did test this theory. They don't like me saying something kinder like... you have a nice day... lol Then they think they can get you to do it and write back with something even worse. lol Of course I only did that lil test for a short time. Now they just get a block.

What do you mean by that, you cheap little whore?

Arpig -> RE: not another tribute thread (8/20/2009 10:30:01 AM)

I don't find the idea of a pro-domme offensive, though I do find it mildly so to find them advertising on CM for free and then complaining about the replies they get. I realize that a good business will take free publicity wherever they can find it, but if you are going to come onto what is in effect a free dating site and advertise your business then you have to expect a little negative feedback. You get what you pay for girls, and you take the good with the bad. Your whining about it is both pointless and unseemly. If you don't like the sort of response you advertisement is getting from CM, well then pull your ad and demand your money back. Or better yet create a website and pay CM to put up an ad with a link to your site.....oh wait, that would actually cost you money wouldn't it.

Called topping from the bottom I believe. You mean to tell me you don't like that? lol

slavekal -> RE: not another tribute thread (8/20/2009 1:55:37 PM)

Not offensive.  Only if you do the bait and switch deal, which you have stated you do not do.

I'm still baffled as to why they'd do that.  I was caught once that way, soon after I joined CM.  She wasted her own time as well as mine.  How does it make sense as a good tactic the domme in question?

Venatrix -> RE: not another tribute thread (8/20/2009 2:19:50 PM)

It's just like selling any commodity.  You get a bunch of browsers before you get a buyer.

PeonForHer -> RE: not another tribute thread (8/20/2009 2:28:27 PM)

Does such a 'stealth pro domme', then, so beguile the occasional man that she'll get him to overcome his initial objections to going to professionals?   I guess that's the ploy.  It still seems to offer little return for the effort, though.

I expect that's the idea.  I'm a non-professional beguiler, so I can't really say.  I would imagine there are more men paying than we think, and so chatting with those who aren't interested is all part of the cost of doing business.  If it weren't a money-making proposition, even with those who don't get reeled in, I assume such women would give up and go back to selling Tupperware.

PeonForHer -> RE: not another tribute thread (8/20/2009 3:45:30 PM)

The woman who tried it on with me couldn't have sold Tupperware - she was a very scary woman indeed.  I spoke to her on the phone once.  She made Russell Crowe sound girly.  Christ, it nearly sandpapered my ear off.

Eivarden -> RE: not another tribute thread (8/20/2009 7:32:55 PM)

Is it wrong for a Pro to advertise? No.

But to be honest, the idea of a pro coming here was something I never even thought of. By default, I would assume otherwise.

I also checked your profile, you clearly state Pro Domme.

I'm no fan of "Gold Diggers" but when you clearly state your a Pro. It is a different story.

You are being clear, honest, and upfront.

There should only be respect for your choice.

Even if there are those who do not favor it.
