I gave you the post stating where it originated. I mean, really. what did they expect to happen? they called tghemselves tea baggers then got pissy when they realized what it meant? give me a break!

I'm admittedly very tired right now, but I read the link you provided three times. Nowhere in that article did I see the organizers of the tea parties refer to themselves as 'teabaggers'.

Could you please copy and paste the exact portion of the article where they referred to themselves as 'teabaggers'? Again, my eyes are tired and perhaps I overlooked it.

Thanks!

Thanks Lucy, Master Laundry called... lol

There was a national call to "tea bag the White House", and they wonder... lol.

servantforuse -> RE: Real astro-turfing? (8/31/2009 7:39:53 PM)

What's wrong with a little tea party once in a while ? Isn't that what started the revolution to set us free from English rule ? I say teabag the white house.

Sanity -> RE: Real astro-turfing? (8/31/2009 7:40:51 PM)

tazzy, in the article you quoted Santelli call them tea parties just like history books refer to the original Tea Party in Boston.

"Santelli said he wanted a tea party to happen in Chicago, Illinois, to stand up and angrily demand "No more."

Even if one person who opposes high taxes did call it "tea bagging" does that really give MSNBC license to refer to everyone who opposes high taxes in all the derogatory ways that have been documented?

They're supposed to be a news organization, but really they're just an arm of the DNC. ORIGINAL: Sanity

For God's sake, they were throwing teabags. There are some things just too good to waste. Yes, teabagging is the act of pressing one's balls against one's partner's forehead. It's a funny word, a funny image and just plain too easy to pass up.

I'll tell you what. When the Democrats decide to have a protest in which they bite pillows in order to show the pain that being ill without health insurance can cause, I will personally  support anyone who calls them "pillow biters".

And please stop with the "they're an arm of the DNC, only Fox is really fair and balanced" crap. There are six corporations who own every major news outlet in this country. These guys don't have a political agenda, they have an audience.

SpinnerofTales -> RE: Real astro-turfing? (8/31/2009 8:22:46 PM)

Oh...and while we're on the subject, a while ago, a bunch of students protesting affirmative action opened up a cookie stand. They charged white males $1 per cookie, women $0.75 and blacks $0.50. I didn't agree with them but I thought it was pretty funny and a nice way of putting things.

To quote Obama, "Why so serious"?

Did you not even read my post above where the MSNBC "reporter" used nothing but sexual innuendo to give a clear picture to what the political defintion of "teabagging" relates?

????

I'm pretty sure teabagging is when you lower the scrotum and testicles into your partner's mouth, Spinner.  Rather like a teabag into hot water.  Where is the fun in pressing them to a forehead?
