If this stuff is true: holy sh*t.

36 minutes...  I'm thinking I'll wait for a synopsis on an Alex Jones website.   And I will be getting my flu shot.

That is George Bxxxxxx!   he is a scam artist.

be that as it may- I WONT be getting any flu shot!

Google Jane Burgermiester.

pahunkboy -> RE: What do you think of this? (9/6/2009 6:16:28 PM)

Hey on George- listen up.  Do not invest in any hot stock tips he suggests.  He hangs with Jonathon Lxxx who went to jail for pump and dump stock rigging.

Arpig -> RE: What do you think of this? (9/6/2009 6:47:26 PM)

Who is this David Conrad guy anyway, I googled the name and came up with this youtube clip and some stuff about a dentist.

pahunkboy -> RE: What do you think of this? (9/6/2009 7:16:31 PM)

I dont know.  But I have heard from a number of sources to not take the vaccine.   Jane Burgermiester is suing.  The vaccine maker says it is safe but is immune from any lawsuits.   All you have to do is learn everything you can over the 1918 flu.   That will explain it.

Arpig -> RE: What do you think of this? (9/6/2009 7:39:38 PM)

Well to be honest, I never intended to get a flu vaccine. Swine flu just doesn't scare me all that much. The numbers that have contracted it are infinitesimally small when viewed as a percentage of the population as a whole, and the number who died from it even smaller. I have more chance of being hit by a car crossing the street than I do of catching swine flu let alone dying from it. The swine flu of 2009 is not the Spanish flu of 1918, they are different things by several orders of magnitude.
The numbers infected are less than the normal infection rate of flu during winter in Canada, and the number of fatalities below that of the regular flu season....its a tempest in a teapot as far as I am concerned.

We really don't know how comparable they might be, Arpig.  The strain we will dealing with in a few months might not have even mutated yet.  Chances are you are absolutely right, but it could also be twice as bad.  Global pandemics are nasty things, and we haven't had an awful one in the era of modern travel.

Arpig -> RE: What do you think of this? (9/6/2009 7:55:08 PM)

True enough, things may be different this flu season, I am doubtful however.

DomKen -> RE: What do you think of this? (9/6/2009 8:44:04 PM)

Everyone should really get a flu shot this year. Swine flu is significantly more lethal than the average strain of flu and we should expect it to become significantly more widespread as the northern hemisphere flu season gets going.

Woo about the flu vaccine is simplt that, woo.

Arpig -> RE: What do you think of this? (9/6/2009 9:03:37 PM)

I'll take my chances.I am a healthy adult, so not really at any particular risk of the flu. Save the shots for those at risk, just like any other year.

TheHeretic -> RE: What do you think of this? (9/6/2009 9:48:06 PM)

Depending on the method of action of flu, Arpig, being a healthy adult can be a bad thing.  Your good, healthy immune system might kill you.

edited to add a link I hope is appropriately informative

Arpig -> RE: What do you think of this? (9/6/2009 9:52:10 PM)

I suppose that may be, but given the numbers of infected and the fatalities involved I still think I take a bigger risk just crossing the street on my way to work every day.

Fair enough.  Do you look both ways before crossing?  And would you look more carefully if they doubled the speed limits on those streets?

OrionTheWolf -> RE: What do you think of this? (9/6/2009 10:01:14 PM)

Could you provide a link that states it is significantly more lethal?

" How severe is illness associated with 2009 H1N1 flu virus?
Illness with the new H1N1 virus has ranged from mild to severe. While most people who have been sick have recovered without needing medical treatment, hospitalizations and deaths from infection with this virus have occurred. "

"With seasonal flu, we know that seasons vary in terms of timing, duration and severity. Seasonal influenza can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. Each year, in the United States, on average 36,000 people die from flu-related complications and more than 200,000 people are hospitalized from flu-related causes. Of those hospitalized, 20,000 are children younger than 5 years old. Over 90% of deaths and about 60 percent of hospitalization occur in people older than 65. "

This is a portion the news has taken out of context:

"The information analyzed by CDC supports the conclusion that 2009 H1N1 flu has caused greater disease burden in people younger than 25 years of age than older people. "

Notice it is saying greater disease burden in comparison between those younger than 25 and older people, not a greater burder or severity in general.

At this time there is not enough data to say it is significantly more lethal, once you have contracted it, but it is definately more contageous since it is a new strain.

Mid October is when the swine flu vaccine should be out, and the regular flu shot is already available.

Forgot the link the quoted areas are from: http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/qa.htm

May or may not be the best source of information.

Ummm...not always[8|] I am known for walking along reading a book, and not being more than peripherally aware of my surroundings, actually I don't need to be reading to be disconnected from the world around me, I just get to thinking and slip away into what people refer to as Bob-land. My daughter has proclaimed me an absolute airhead...I prefer absent-minded[;)]

Not actually a source of information...more a source of paranoid rantings of the lunatic fringe (and I know a thing or two about paranoia[;)]).

DomKen -> RE: What do you think of this? (9/7/2009 1:30:32 AM)

From here:
http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/update.htm
presently 38112 cases of 2009 H1N1 have been reported, 9079 hospitilizations have occured with 593 deaths. Thats a death rate of 1.5%. Normally flu kills about 0.1% of those infected.

Now it is probable that there have been a lot more 2009 H1N1 flu cases in the US than have been identified but considering the awareness of the issue I'm doubtful that it is 15 times the reported numbers. Which makes 2009 H1N1 more lethal than the run of the mill flu and this is the off season so things are likely to get worse.

pahunkboy -> RE: What do you think of this? (9/7/2009 12:45:33 PM)

The flu shot CONTAINS the virus.  Just like it did in 1918.

The idea is to wipe out the protesters as the economy breaks down.

Not everyone will be killed- but the mercury- and scayline are the start of bad things.

Most people get 3 colds a year.   I almost never get a cold.

Why would you trust them?    But hey- thats up to you.  This first run is a beta test.   Not the real thing.
