If you get the tattoo, what happens if the relationship ends? I guess the number of tattoos can always tell the truth of how many masters you served.

For relationship pursposes alone, It's my observation of others that getting a tattoo is a bad idea. After the mark is made, things go down hill and then you're stuck with just the tattoo. Look at Tom Arnold for crying out loud. A collar, type of jewlry, or nice ID Tag is better on the side of common sense.

subtlebutterfly -> RE: Tattoo's of ownership (9/10/2009 12:46:48 AM)

Even if people cannot understand what the tattoo means then the purpose of getting it done will never go away and you do know what it means so in my opinion you could just as well be tattooing your partners name on you, which is utter stupidity in my opinion... but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Fevery -> RE: Tattoo's of ownership (9/10/2009 1:12:32 AM)

I love tattoos, and I've thought about this quite often as it pertains to a D/s relationship.

Aside from an agreed-upon meaningful art piece which has personal significance but isn't a name/initials... there's also the TSR number choice. If the straight-forward number (on a larger piece with a ribbon/banner or just stand-alone) tattoo is too cold or nods too heavily toward the Nazi age for your comfort, a good artist could make the numbers a little abstract -- using them in a band-type design, for instance imbedded in a barbed wire ankle band or a tribal arm band. The TSR number follows the sub/slave, not the relationship itelf, although the certificate page can be changed accordingly to whatever relationship/ownership status the sub/slave currently has.

It's just a thought.

Same as above: My slave is registered as 000-733-561 at www.slaveregister.com.  You can take a look at a lot of tatou-examples there as well. Benifit: the number stays, but if you're separating from your slave, the number stays with him and the new Mistress is displayed on an ownership document.

Missokyst -> RE: Tattoo's of ownership (9/11/2009 5:08:38 PM)

Good thing I am not a tattoo artist.  Since I am also sadistic with an evil side I might make up some characters to mean anything I wanted, and my clients would not know the diference.
I have a tat that I designed after my breakup.  It is to remind me.  When I was with him I didn't need a reminder. and didn't get a mark  ... I THOUGHT!

As it turns out I may not have one but my car does.  The car he purchased for me got a dent on the hood within the first 30 mins of a test drive.  Yesterday he told me he found a nice hood to replace mine but I declined.  I love my car, just the way it is as a memory of better times.

If you are going to get a mark make it one that means something.  Otherwise years later you can tell anyone that asks the tat means means anything and they would believe you, and that seems like it would be a waste.

SnareMage85 -> RE: Tattoo's of ownership (9/12/2009 4:18:44 AM)

I have to say it fully depends on how certain you and your mistress are of things lasting.

I had a vanilla relationship where the girl got a tat and said it was for me. Nine months later when we broke up she didn't waste any time getting a few things added to the tat.

Oh if only her new BF knew the truth of that tat.

RavenMuse -> RE: Tattoo's of ownership (9/14/2009 12:16:32 PM)

My girl asked Me if she could have a tattoo, one that had something of Me in it... I told her there was absolutely no chance I would allow her to put My name on her.. As pointed out above, all very well during the relationship but there are no guarantees in life and what happens if We split.... As her Master I take responsibility of ensuring that is taken into account.

I listened to her ideas of what she wanted, looked as some of what she was showing Me to consider and then found on that I thought would work. she fell in love with it.... a Celtic design that incorporates three Ravens.... so whilst she is Owned by Me it is very much part of Me (Raven, Celt and I chose it! Plus the tri design indicative of both pagan and triskelion/BDSM symbol)... yet if We should ever part company then it is just a pretty design with birds in it.

Brief Hijack....

RavenMuse,
Thank you for posting that link.  The tattoo is beautiful!  I recieved a card many years ago with that design and fell in love with it.  I've thought of  using elements of the design in a tattoo of my own and wondered how it would look.
Thanks for sharing.

RavenMuse -> RE: Tattoo's of ownership (9/15/2009 1:02:35 PM)

Vaz from skinshock ( http://www.skinshock.com/home.html ) did the work, he was knackered by the time he was finished. Not far short of four hours actually under the needle. We where there from 11am and got home just before 5pm.

He prefers doing freehand work, this is his first celtic piece in quite a while... I'd seen other work of His and knew He has the skill do do a good job on what We wanted.

IronBear -> RE: Tattoo's of ownership (9/15/2009 1:06:18 PM)

That's a damned fine piece of work old chap. Not surprising that we have very similar tastes in such artwork.

leadership527 -> RE: Tattoo's of ownership (9/15/2009 2:06:03 PM)

~fast reply~

Well, now that we've got our move all over and done with and we're safely ensconced in our little love shack in the woods I'm back to working on Carol's tattoo. This is an older iteration and now that I have a spare moment to breath, I'm going to redraw all the line work into something a bit more angular somehow, but I'm looking forward to marking her.

I went with the conceptual "obedience" over anything like "property of jeff" mostly because I'm a conceptual guy and the word "Obedience" speaks to me. At this point, we've been together long enough that I no longer feel I need to spend a lot of ergs thinking "what happens when we split up".

Sunnyfey -> RE: Tattoo's of ownership (9/15/2009 2:09:48 PM)

good luck Jeff,

I'm sure whatever it ends up being will compliment Carol's beauty perfectly [:)]

*chuckles* Thanks Sunny... Im sure it will to. I'm just not sure how many hours of swearing and cursing will be involved since I've never done line art like that. It should be a fascinating and no doubt frustrating learning curve.

SultryMomma -> RE: Tattoo's of ownership (9/16/2009 6:22:37 AM)

RavenMuse,

that is absolutely beautiful. Congrats to both of you.
