A great actor - even in silly movies like "Red Dawn."

May he rest in peace.

I must be the odd duck out. I could not stand his movies.........BUT he seemed like a really decent human being. From what I've read, he certainly handled his illness with strength and grace.

No you're not. Road House, Next of Kin, that stupid truck driving movie, Ghost (yep, I said it), Dirty Dancing(again...I said it) SUCKED. His movies were horrible. I notice no one mentions his drunk piloting adventures where he could have killed many people. Sorry, I said the same thing at work when I heard about this. The guy was a shitty actor. Lots of people died today. Patrick Swayze was not a high priority for me.

I was watching clips of him dancing on youtube. There is one clip of him and his wife dancing at some awards show in 1994. Beautiful. She lost her dance partner and lifelong love (He was 19 and she was 15 when they met in his mother's dance studio).

I love the muscularity he brought to his dancing. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy, too. I loved him in "To Wong Fu, thanks for everything! Love Julie Newmar". RIP, Patrick.

That face, those eyes, that voice, that sense of family. When an earlier poster stated that they're going to go home & "watch Ghost" brought goosebumps to my arms because now it's a reality.

RIP Mr. Swayze. You fought a hard fight w/grace & dignity.

I thought he was a decent actor and human being, but for some reason, I never saw him as a hunk.
To Wong Foo, Thanks for everything, Julie Newmar was my favorite film of his.

I thought he was a much prettier woman than he was handsome as a man and what I love about the movie is that it has a lot of heart.

I had to watch "The Outsiders" every year in school for English class (I lived in Tulsa,OK pretty much a given right?).

I always loved the movie version :)

Ponyboy's sweatshirt is encased in a shadowbox-type frame...hanging in the living room.

We need to get you into the 21st century.

You see, there is this little thing called a DVD, it goes into a machine called a DVD player which is hooked up to a cool gizmo called a television!

Tomorrow, lesson two..........Cable television and/or satellite television. They have allllllllllll sorts of delightful movies on there!

He fought it hard and is now pain free and at peace. Sad he is gone yet a relief too because of the suffering. Farewell.
