UKEvolutionary -> RE: Whipped to tears (9/17/2009 6:22:13 AM)

Having been introduced to a different term within D/s, I did a little reading, but nowhere have I found an answer to My question, so please excuse My lack of knowledge, but is the submissive "aware" of the reason why they are crying if it's not due to the pain ? From the Definitions I came across, I would "suggest" the answer to My question is a "no" Definition: A catharsis is an emotional release. According to psychodynamic theory, this emotional release is linked to a need to release unconscious conflicts. For example, experiencing stress over a work-related situation may cause feelings of frustration and tension. Rather than vent these feelings inappropriately, the individual may instead release these feelings in another way, such as through physical activity or another stress relieving activity. and is Catharsis possible AFTER scening, or would that not fit in with the very definition of the word ? I'm a "little" confused about it so any extra help in understanding would be gratefully received ! Thank you
