You are not too fat to be a dominant, by any means... but so many of the men who write to us are too stupid to be our submissives! [:D]

Forgive me for invoking the grammar police, but it's relavent to your question. There is no such thing as "a domme". Even accepting that "domme" is accepted in the community as an abreviateion of dominant when applied to a female, "dominant" is an adjective. So "a domme" is really doubly abreviated for "dominant woman". Since to the best of my knowledge there is no medical study suggesting that you can be too heavy to be a woman, we can then focus on weight as a determining factor in having a dominant personality. Even then though, there is a difference between having a dominant personality, and desiring to take the dominant role in your play or relationships. I know of many women with dominant personalites who prefer the submissive role in their relationships. I also know of many who consider themselves to be "a domme" who are as dominant as a houseplant. Your question therefore, can be taken two ways. "Does size limit someone from having a dominant personality?", or "does size limit someone from taking the dominant role in a relationship or play".

It is my experience in this wonderful internet driven "BDSM community" that the terms dominant and submissive mean virtually" (no pun intended) nothing. Everyone defines those terms differently, and thus they are essentially useless for anything other than a starting point. That being the case, what anyone else thinks you are or aren't should be totally irrelevant to you. If you can find somone who you wish to take the dominant role with, and who wishes to take the submissive role with you, then you can both live happily ever after, or at least until the next day when they decide you aren't a "real domme", or you decide they aren't a "real subbie", and the search begins again.

And as a couple of parting notes, toys don't make you dominant, no matter how many bags you have of them. If "most seem great on here" to you, then you have either not been here very long, you aren't very observent, or you have very low standards. This site is a cesspool of liars, game players and emotionally broken people. Out in the real world, only castlerealm can compete with collarme for being the most derided and loathed bdsm website. And frankly, the real world bdsm community aint so great either.

Happy hunting.

slavekal -> RE: too fat to be a domme? (9/22/2009 2:03:29 PM)

If there were a weight limit, there would be almost no dommes in the midwest!  Kidding.  Seriously, that is BS.  You might be too fat for that guy, but not for another.  Too old for one guy, but too young for another.  Pay no attention to what he said.

is there a size limit to being a domme?

the reason i ask is that i have received a message from a guy stating im too fat and to give up now

There is no size limit to being a dom, just like there is no stupid or rude limit to being a sub (in ref to this guy in particular).

I use my size as a tool in play.  Your personality, attitude, and serious mean streak are going to be the qualities that matter most.  If you suffer lack of confidence because of your size, work to overcome it - learn how to dress well for the size you are, accentuate what is beautiful and powerful about you.

As to expensive equipment:  think hardware stores, houseware and storage stores, discount stores...  (Home Depot, Container Store, Big Lots, Target, 99 Cent Store and Dollar Tree, Toys R Us, Teacher Supply.)

Most of the equipment in my extensive collection was very inexpensive.

Oh please, may i second that about the equipment. Miss Cake is so correct. And let me add it is not the hardware that is so important but often the HARD attitude (pun intended)

Since you seem to be so interested in correct grammar, i took the liberty of highlighting your errors.

And since this site is such a "cesspool of liars, game players, and emotionally broken people"..please feel free to tell us which one you are?

kiwisub12 -> RE: too fat to be a domme? (9/22/2009 2:12:39 PM)

Well   -  hmm *thumbing through the dominant woman handbook*   -  yah know, if you aren't 187.797666666 pounds, you can't be a TRUE genuine domme!  If you are outside of this weight range, you can be  a real dominant but not a TRUE dominant.   Sorry you don't qualify for TRUEDOM.

Obviously you need to read your handbook more thoroughly!  Bad woman  *smacks on hand, ducks and runs*

Yeah, well welcome to the world of the internet where putzes feel they can say whatever they want behind the armour of their computer screen.

Oh I know that.  It's amazing the things people will say to you on here.  I really can't believe most of it would be said in a face-to-face conversation.

This fact seems to be true everywhere, not just on adult websites.

There are two women that work at our district office.  They send out some of the nastiest emails I've ever read (so nasty not sure how they keep their jobs).  Hey, but guess what?  When you have to go to the district office, they are as sweet as pie to your face.  At first a lot of us chalked it up to a bad day, and would talk to them as if the emails never happened, only for them to return to their offices and continue with their emails, business as usual.

So after a while you no longer want to "play" along, and even though you are civil, it is a work place, you are cool to them, and when you are cool to them, they actually go complain to all that will listen, including superiors, that you are not nice to them.    Fortunately, nothing ever comes of it.

There are a lot of people that act 10 feet tall and bullet proof behind a computer screen.

blmtrsne -> RE: too fat to be a domme? (9/22/2009 3:38:35 PM)

If you order anyone to take a towel and help you with the dishes in such a natural way he/she does so, you're already dominant. Weight is no factor. You as a dominant know how to treat a sub, and the sub is there for you, not the opposite. Don't even reply, he's trying to boss you around.

And let Me be the third.  One of the silliest mistakes that some people make when they are getting into the lifestyle is buying expensive equipment with no idea of how to use it and nobody to use it on.  For example, I've enjoyed horse riding in the past but I don't own one.  It would be ridiculous for Me to run out and buy riding clothes, a saddle, and all of the rest, wouldn't it?  The practical advice is to buy a few items, learn to use them, and learn to use them well before spending a fortune.  It could just end up being stuff you put in a closet somewhere because you haven't learned what to do with it.

Dude, all I can say to the above is that you are definitely not using the right methods to meet people.  There are a good number of us who know each other in real life and I can promise you that your assessment here is incorrect.

Umm, no. You called the spelling police. Completely different jusidiction.

As for me, I'm the turd in the punch bowl. If you desire an explanation, I'm sorry, but it won't come from me. The only person who is more foolish than the person trying to teach a pig to fly, is the one who tries to explain to the pig why the other person is foolish.
