Government conspiracys aside:

I will admit that this has not been researched by myself - it is simply something that my father passed on to me as it is part of today's breaking news.

A study released out of British Columbia (source unknown to myself)
1. people who received the seasonal flu shot LAST year, may be more succesptible to the H1N1 this year
2. this institute is recommending that seasonal flu shots be given only for those over 65 and nursing home staff
3. if you receive a seasonal flu shot you should get it AFTER the H1N1
4. there is some belief that there will be no further need for the seasonal flu shot as the H1N1 has wiped out all other strains.

The government of some of our provinces (mostly in the East) have already jumped on this band wagon.

So I have gone from giving my family all the protection it can get - to doing some serious research on this and following the news.  I would imagine that this report can be found on CBC.ca as that is the radio station that my Dad listens to.

Status: offline 		On flu shots- last year I did not get one.  But the prior 6 years I did.

Oddly - my family all got the flu last season- I did not so much as get a cold.   But then I keep the temps at 62.  Take vit c and eat alot of oranges.

Every year- I rounded up mom and gram and we found a shot- even when there was a shortage and they were charging $100 for one in Chicago.

Gosh even the tape of it made me cringe.  But then I live near alot of noise so my nerves are not that good.
