And no offense, but can you take anything the NRA has to say about a Democrat seriously? They were spouting all of this stuff about Clinton and Carter as well, and as we both know, it turned out to be a load of crap in those cases. For Heaven's sake, the man can't even get Healthcare reforms put into effect with a majority in both houses. Do you honestly think he'd be able to get away with repealing the second amendment? (I'm not sure that most of these points add up to the repeal of the second amendment either.)

every time a democrat runs for office or is elected, we hear the same old crap, their going to take our guns away!. I've been hearing this since Kennedy ran for president and won, and guess what! We all still have our guns. People spend too much time listening to the likes of Rush Limbaugh instead of thinking for themselves. If they spent time reading the papers and watching the news and the debates, they just might be able to make up their own minds on things instead of having Rush or Glen telling them what to do and how to vote. One more thing, isn't this supposed to be a Master/Mistress/slave/sub forum? Why all the politics?

Ummmm, Speer wasn't put in charge of the German economy until late in the Hitler's tenure...in 1942 in fact. As to Hitler taking away guns as his first act after taking power...also not true. The Nazis didn't pass a gun control law until 1938...some 5 years after they took power, and that law only banned Jews from owning guns, not anybody else. Sorry, but as usual those who try to compare Obama to Hitler really don't know what they are talking about, and rely on the fact that most other people don't know much about Hitler and his regime as well.

RE: Glenn Beck I don't know much about Glenn Beck but every time I see him he seems to be outlining how complicated a certain piece of legislation is by showing heaps of paper on his desk i.e. tax legislation one week and the healthcare reform bill a few weeks later. If I were a cynical type I'd say the only person that actually knows that those two stacks of paper shown on separate occasions aren’t the same stack of paper is him.[8\|] 'Miranda get some paper waste from the photocopier we have a piece to do on international climate targets." Same ol' same ol'... to be frank. Huey B, Long Father Coghlin Lonesome Roads (fictional) Don Imus Limbaugh Beck Hannity (who was caught on tape admitting he only did this schtick for the money) O'Riley ("Fuck it! We'll do it live!" [which according to some of the folks working with him, was one of his mre sedate moments.] ) As long as there's a portion of the American population that's disgruntled, that feels like things aren't as good as they used to be in the "good ol' days"... As long as there's a bunch of people who've lost jobs, or homes, but still have a radio or a TV set... there will be hate mongers and paranoia vectors out there ready, willing, and able to stir up the hornets nest. Especially now that it's become big business. The book with Glenn Beck's name on it (I'm sure it's ghosted by someone from the Murdock pool) has now spent two weeks at the top of the non-fiction (?) book lists. An estimated $80 million a week... just to tell people too stupid to look up facts on their own, what they want to hear. People in hard times want and need to have an enemy. I remember watching a documentary on "Hate Groups in America." In it, they interviewed a recruiter for a white supremiscist group, who said it was ridiculously easy to get people to turn to them. All you had to do was target the schmuck who was up to his neck in debt, or about to be foreclosed upon, or who just got shitcanned. He'd just sidle up to them, and whisper, "You know who did this to you, don't you? It was the (blacks/jews/mexicans/democrats- take your pick) and they are taking our country apart. We're trying to stop them! Join us, brother!" Which is EXACTLY what I see these creeps doing now on Fox and on EIB. So far, only one census volunteer has been killed in Kentucky. But lots of people have shown up packing guns at Presidential events. The Klannish elements of the GOP are growing. To comment on an earlier post, Limbaugh didn't declare himself leader of the GOP. He was just the default after the "great moderate purge" that started even before the last election. Nothing left now but gun totin', Bible thumpin', "kill all the gays, perverts, illegal immagrants" whack jobs. The Republican Party: RIP
