Allow me to explain government health care to a select few who have no clue what they are talking about. My son has a congenital heart disorder. Medically, its not safe for him to exercise. His Drs told him to lose weight.. but.. dont exercise too strenously. His heart is in worse condition than my fathers, who is almost 70 and has had three heart attacks. Because of his heart, my parents adopted my son, all above board.. no shame. Tricare is a GREAT insurance. My son is planning a bypass surgery. He got his approval today, based upon his cardiac physician's recommendation, the phychiatrist evaluation and his personal physician. His co-pay? 10 dollars. Other than any medications he may need. Tricare wont refuse him, he has gotten no rubber stamped denial letter, no wait and see, no investigation into his medical history, no concerns over previous illnesses... none of that bullshit. Now, in 6 months, he will lose the Tricare coverage due to his age. What do you think the chances are of him getting private coverage? Even most employers policies have pre-existing clauses. As kids, we were all pretty healthy when my dad was in the Coast Guard. And, yes, any tour of duty into a war zone, my dad signed up for. He fought for this country, and in return, the country gave him medical. Ask the military/ex military about their coverage. Its nice knowing its in place, that it covers what it say it will. These stories go on and on, daily. Im lucky. I have great parents who saw a need, contacted a lawyer, and we found a solution. It should not have come to this, but it has... it had too for his life... for his condition is life or death, no middle ground. So when you mock something you dont know a damn thing about other than what some lame ass on a radio show has told you... go fuck yourself!
