Hi Mia, I agree, it could be a great option for a very large number of people though. There is a ton of money available right now for school through the government because of the stimulus plan. This goes beyond people going back to school though, people currently in school need to be majoring in the hard sciences, engineering, medicine, and nursing too...enough with the liberal arts, fine arts, history degree BS. I think it could be the new normal for a while. Eventually another bubble will inflate, banks will be encouraged to loan and loan and loan to anyone even the neighborhood golden retriever as they did before, and Americans will get spending drunk again on credit...and the cycle will repeat. I just don't think it will be a housing bubble, it may be a health care bubble which will be fabulous for anyone who starts or currently owns a health care related company. quote:
ORIGINAL: MzMia Well Chewsie, going back to school is not going to be the answer for everyone. The Dow is up a bit, but the numbers for unemployment remain very dismisal. I heard today, that when you count the people that have given up looking for a job, and those that have had to settle for only part time work, the numbers are close to 20%. How sad is that? This article saddens me, but I think this is going to be a new reality for a long time. It's a new day. High jobless rates could be the new normal - Stocks & economy- msnbc.com High joblessness, the new normal? Good news: Women also now are making up more than 50% of the work force. Bad news: 3/4 of the jobs that have been lost since 2007, were held by men. The Scariest Jobs Chart Ever
