while i do not touch the stuff i know very highly successful business people who smoke it religiously, and they are fine. hell my own literature professor in college told me he stayed stoned and it helped him understand the writting, he was seen as brilliant by most. i have a pain condition and if i could i would try and take a thc pill. So "STONERS DONT FRY THEIRS BRAINS" not unless they stay in that state contantly. It is safer than alcohol by any means. ive never heard of a story where someone got stoned and went and robbed something, or killed someone, or drove high and wrecked and killed. But alcohol !!!!!

Termyn8or -> RE: banned (10/9/2009 7:27:45 AM)

FR

It took me awhile to learn, but the context is basically as if you were sitting in a classy bar talking loudly. Now remember everyone can hear you. So if you mention that your dumbass brother in law (or whoever) is in jail for selling drugs it is far different than offering.

Do you realize that in some places in the US saying that to a cop will land you in jail ? It's called solicitation. You don't need the weed, just the words. That's how undercover cops bust would be johns in the red light districts. In that case, the prostitution never happened, the Woman was not a prostitute and therefore the would be customer is not a john. But they get convictions all the time.

Over the years I have back figured the goal of CM. It is not only the law they are concerned with, it is image. In the case of this forum, anyone on the internet can read all of it. People have been kicked off this forum just for being annoying. Granted they have to get pretty bad, but I do believe it has happened. I don't know if non members can see the video chat, but I suppose that's not really the point. Everything you do on the internet is recorded and logged. While anonymity is of prime importance to CM, if the court papers show up they must release the records.

I almost got banned for using the words "How about I" instead of "What if someone". It was construed as a threat to someone's anonymity and that got me one of the sternest warnings ever. Something to the effect that I'll "be outta here so fast it'll make my head spin".

Hope the ban isn't for life, and live and learn.

T

Holly i have seen that, and ive seen other statics saying otherwise. i think it depends on how much you use it. im all for legalizing, as it would bring in great revenue, it would help people with pain conditions, glaucoma and so many other things. Moderation is the key as it is in drinking. huggles dear holly btw do you ever get to sleep?

PEOPLE,,it was a joke,,WHY WASENT i warned..why didnt anyone explain anything to me?

so let me get this right,,, ITS ok for a man to ask a woman to do all sorts of sexual things while he masterbates to her with his nut sac in a vice
but its wrong for me to make a comment asking someone if they want some weed,

You WERE warned in the TOS that you stated you read and agreed to prior to your membership being approved.

And yes, it is acceptable for a man to proposition a woman, and beat off while doing it. There is nothing illegal about what he is doing.
There IS something very illegal about offering to sell drugs.

Dear southsider,

If you make a decision to do something illegal, you pay the price.  Are you really going to have us believe that you don't know that even making a joke about doing something illegal can get you in trouble as well as the people who give you the opportunity?

A few years ago, I was dating someone.  I didn't know she was involved with another woman.  Wanna know how I found out?  Her LIVE IN GIRLFRIEND (boy did I feel stupid) called me from her place of business and threatened me - more than once.  You know what I did?  I called her boss and said "Your employee is harassing and threatening me from your place of business.  If you continue to allow her to do that, I will sue YOU because she is acting as your representative."  It was investigated, she said she was joking.  They didn't buy it and put her on probation, and the calls stopped.

I tell you this because it is a similar thing.  You are using someone else's space (CollarMe) to participate in illegal activities - whether you meant it as a joke or not.  You are not the only one who would be in hot water - they would be.  And baby, you ain't worth it.

I respect that you have made a choice to break the law.  But if you choose to do that, you must be aware of the consequences.  When you speed, you must be willing to be busted and receive a speeding ticket.  When you break the neighbor's window with a baseball, you must be willing to work and pay off the broken window.  When you break the TOS of a website, expect they will ban you.

Welcome to adulthood,
sunshine

Meh... Vidchat moderators are lame. Someone claimed one of us said we were 17 (while we were 19) and we got banned with no warning for a week or so.

i can understand that these ppl probably put up with alot of crap,,but they should atleast give you like a WARNING,,or maybe tell you,,YOU MESSED up,,your banned for a week, month..NOT very good bussiness seeing COLLARME is a MEMBER OF THE FREE SPEECH AS

If you travel across the border and customs ask if you have anything to declare and you jokingly say yea...I got a bag of weed. You think they will believe you're only joking...I think not. Same thing, yea you and your bud like to smoke up, yet there is a time and place to joke about potential illegal activities and on a public forum is not the place...period. Be an adult and accept your lumps, we had to.

well...from what i have read, pot does not have a cumulative effect. It either damages the nerves when consumed/smoked, or it doesn't. But it has been a long time, and perhaps the new research suggests otherwise?

And you bet i am for legalizing it!! it is the best pain killer out there and for those with chronic pain (fibro comes to mind[:)]) the benefits far outweigh the risks. It is legal in pill form in many states and it is ludicrous that it is not in all states. And it is not just pain control either...cancer patients could use it for the anti-emetic effects during chemo, as well as appetite stimulation (the dreaded munchies).

DemonKia -> RE: banned (10/9/2009 12:03:48 PM)

Holly, for future reference you might wanna go to someplace like this:

Marijuana Policy Project Library

Their data quality is better than the mainstream sources, which mostly rely on the government-driven propaganda on the subject . .. . .

Those brain-damage studies have been refuted, which wasn't too hard. Most of the anti-cannabis propaganda is based on very problematic science, much of which has been since debunked . . . . .

[/threadjack]

OP, yeah, CollarMe is no different than any other business place -- this is just like hanging out in a coffee shop or a bar or whatever, they have their rules that must be learned & abided by, or they have every right to chuck the disobedient & unruly out on their ears . .. . .

southsider316 -> RE: banned (10/9/2009 12:20:27 PM)

look guys,,THE LAST thing americians should be worried about is WEED,,before you sling dirt at me,,maybe you should contact the governer of california where up to 6 weed plants can be grown.there is over 100 million weed smokes in north america,,AND im not 1,,[;)]

so i get caught speeding,,i get a ticket,,I PAY my fine,,I DONT lose my licence.

i AGREE i am useing collarme,s webspace FOR FREE,,and i have done nothing to tarnish collarme in any way.

but i disagree with being banned and not told why,,or for how long

REMEMBER if it wasent for members there would be no collarme. not saying im special,,just sayin

if collarme had a IMAGE to uphold,wouldnt they atleast tell you why you were banned,,
if you deal with anyone else,,9/10 times they will atleast explain things to you.

i dont know if any of you go into the video chat or not,, but i know of atleast 5 times threats have been made toward me,, i have also stumbelled onto a few cams where there was drugs beeing used,,ALOT harder than weed..and just a few nights ago i was asked for money,,inreturn i could visit some chicks website,,I BELIEVE advertiseing is against collarme rules..

ANYWAYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS all i wanted was an answer,,,maybe im just old fashioned,,,but i believe asking a woman to do nasty things with a baseball bat is alot worse than asking someone in a joking manner if they want some weed,, against the law or not,,,peace

DemonKia -> RE: banned (10/9/2009 12:29:09 PM)

People get banned from places, online & in the flesh-world, all the time . . . .

& most of the time, the one's left inside either don't really care or they're happy that standards are being maintained . . .. .

If you wanna start a 'legalize cannabis' thread, do that separately for best effect -- that would be my advise .. . . . . There's a whole bunch of pro-canna people around here & we'd probably have a good ol' time proving how stupid it is for cannabis to be illegal.

But this thread is about you being banned for violating the Terms of Service that you didn't bother reading, & didn't think really mattered . .. . . .

Jus' so we're clear . . . . .

[:D]

Lockit -> RE: banned (10/9/2009 12:29:58 PM)

I believe that the chat rooms are private parties doing their thing and they make their room rules. I am unaware of any room that is now controlled by CM. It's been a while since I was in the chats, but that is the way it was. They make their rules and you go by them whether they are posted or not, whether they are fair or not, excused or given reasons for whatever or not.

You might try not making a huge scene about it, writing to the owners of the room and telling them what happened, your position and how you would never do it again if you want back in. And I would suggest that the person you considered a friend, isn't a friend. lol With a nickname like your own, you may run into things like this, saying things like that. Sometimes you just have to cover your ass.

Right or wrong, your view or another's view... it is what it is.

if it was not for the moderators doing their job, CollarMe might not be here.

Most of us do our best to respect the rules that are clearly spelled out in the TOS. Those rules are there for a reason and as you found out, violate them and you will be banned.

It is not up to you to decide what should or should not be a rule here. If you do not like the TOS, feel they are too strict, too limiting, or whatever you are grumping about, find the door.

Hillwilliam -> RE: banned (10/9/2009 1:45:59 PM)

An interesting aside to the argument.  I understand that smoking marijuana is illegal, but in most jurisdictions, a good flogging even if it is consensual is considered domestic abuse.  This subject is the topic of many a chatroom conversation.

Just a random thought from the non pot smoking mind of Hill

Wolf2Bear -> RE: banned (10/9/2009 2:16:33 PM)

Frankly that is something which I never need to worry about. At least up here, if any law enforcement agency kew I consented to be beaten black and blue, unless I file charges,  there ain't a damn thing they can do.

DemonKia -> RE: banned (10/9/2009 2:45:42 PM)

The problem was in the OP (humorously or whatever) making an offer to sell using the venue as a medium for part of the transaction, which makes CM (& it's authorized agents) potentially a part of the criminal conduct. I think.

There's quite a bit of leeway here for a bunch of us to discuss cannabis as a social issue, & (again, I think) part of the thinking around here is that if one wants to discuss particulars about using cannabis (or whatever) there are better, more targeted sites catering to that . .. . .

The comparison between cannabis being illicit but widespread being similar to SM activities' illicitness & pervasiveness would make an interesting thread topic all on it's own . . . .

Oh, & I feel a Bill Hicks quote coming on:

No, I don't do drugs anymore, either. But I'll tell you something about drugs. I used to do drugs, but I'll tell you something honestly about drugs, honestly, and I know it's not a very popular idea, you don't hear it very often anymore, but it is the truth: I had a great time doing drugs. Sorry. Never murdered anyone, never robbed anyone, never raped anyone, never beat anyone, never lost a job, a car, a house, a wife or kids, laughed my ass off, and went about my day. - Bill Hicks

ETA: [insert 'potentially']

MissCake -> RE: banned (10/9/2009 2:49:17 PM)

You came into other chats last night and said "I don't know why I was banned" - playing stupid (or more likely, acting stoned).  Collar Me is a private community and you agreed to follow the terms of participation in this community.  References to illegal activities such as, oh, I dunno, selling pot, have to be avoided in a community such as this that draws so much potential scrutiny.

Quit whining and suck-it up dumbass.

RobertCloud -> RE: banned (10/9/2009 3:07:56 PM)

OP... You have been told why you were banned... More than once... By several CollarMe regulars here in the forums...

You broke TOS rules...

There is nothing more that needs to be said. No more explanation needed. You broke the rules.

Now grow up and accept your punishment. Perhaps if you go speak to a Moderator in one of their forums they might decide to give you a time limit, or if you continue with this attitude they may decide to ban you from CollarMe altogether.

Which perhaps would be better for the rest of us...

DesFIP -> RE: banned (10/9/2009 3:26:28 PM)

One speeding ticket and you don't lose your license. Four within 18 months and you do.
However assault gets you in jail on the first offense, you don't get three free ones.
Different crimes have different penalties.

Possessing one joint doesn't get much of a penalty anywhere. Possessing 30 pounds does.

You don't get to make the law. Abide by the site rules or start your own site. Those are your options.
Just like you don't get to make the rules at a restaurant, if they say no smoking, then abide or be kicked out.

And stop whining, it doesn't help your hopeless cause.
