These are the top ten personality traits i want in a Dom -- what is your list?

1. He truely is dominant, by virtue of character.

2. He is honest. Without being cruel, He can honestly state His desires so i can consider if i'd be happy fulfilling them.

3. He is attentive. The D/s relationship we are considering matters very much to Him, and He gives it the time and attention necessary for either of us to know if the other is the right person.

4. He is smart. i feel i could learn from Him; that He'd open my eyes to things, and not merely sexually but intellectual.

5. He is loving. Not yet to me, but to His friends and family; and He has a history of loving people, especially women.

6. He is sensual and sexual. i feel wanted; i am intrigued.

7. He is respectful, not asking for a Dom's rights before the collar is on.

8. He wants a similiar relationship in D/s as i.

9. He is about my age.

10. He is sexy and funny. Charming, witty, and poised.

1. confident: He knows WHAT he wants and WHY.
2. intelligent and witty: He has a way with words!(and He knows some really hard ones!)
3. humorous: in that sarcastic New Yorker stlye
4. communicative: says what He means and means what He says and there is no question this slave has asked of Him that He has left unanswered.
5. compassionate: especially with His loved ones and friends, but also to those less fortunate.
6. open-minded: a love-r and live-r of life, his only prejudice= fraud.
7. loves to travel: by car, train, boat, plane, or donkey rides~the journey is a big part of the destination!
8. socially adept: He enjoys parties and get togethers on a regular basis~also making and entertaining friends.
9. incredibly sexy: mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
10. able and willing to be fully present in our relationsip each and every day.

i've lost my list since i met Master, but arrogance is one quality that is a MAJOR turn on for me, but that i have to watch out for when choosing a Dom as usually those ones don't make for a good match for me.

Confident--(without being cocky) of his abilities.
Secure--within his own skin without being self centered.
Intelligent--with a thirst for knowledge.
Mature--emotionaly & in regards to handling life in general.
Expressive--in verbage and action.
Broad minded--knows the world is colorful and everything isn't always black and white.
Empathetic--doesn't have to experience first hand to know how others feel and is aware of how other's feel and is respectful of it.
Complex--in thought and life experiences.
Captivating--by words and actions.
Trustworthy--not advantageous

We seem to lose sight of the fact that we are looking for a person. A person who should posess all of the qualities we'd enjoy in a friend, or relative or acquaintance. It's the many small traits that someone possesses that makes them wonderful. Add a few specific to the lifestyle and you have it. As far as lifestyle, I'm talking about a person being able to dominate to the level that is required for you, a person who's kink is compatible with yours, a person whose immersion in the lifestyle is similar to yours, etc.
