Rush does perform one extremely important service.

He keeps the attention of rabid left-leaners focused on him. Doesn't stop them, but at least diverts some of their attention from totally fucking up the country.

I don't care much for the right-wingers either, but at least they don't tend to whine as much.

Are you kidding?

Limbaugh's show is a constant daily whine about how the liberal left is destroying the country.

And it has been for years.

The pathetic gimmick that, unfortunately, far too many ignorant people accept as gospel.

Well OK...and what you said. They certainly did nothing about it when they were in power. ORIGINAL: Musicmystery

That's not true MM. Bush passed a Medicare reform bill that guaranteed that the government would pay full price for prescription drugs to the pharmaceutical companies. Instead of using the huge purchasing power to negotiate more reasonable prices, it was assured that the pharmaceuticals could ask what they wanted and we'd pay it. We don't want that nasty socialism of making sure that the people get any bang for their buck, do we?

Yep that was a great bill...before I paid $90 a month 12 months a year...After the Great Bush prescription bill passed I now pay $300 a month till October then I hit my donut hole and have to pay $1200 a month.

I love giving money to Bush's pals...makes me feel ...well...wanted.

Butch

Yeah, the GOP really has alternatives that work in health care, don't they?

Hey spinner. You won't have to wait until 2012. The results will come in November 2010. If you want to go a little closer, in 2 weeks new governors will be elected in New Jersey and Virginia..

You can live and hope, serve. I have said it before and will say it again. In '10 the democrats lose their supermajority, keep the majority in both houses and, while I don't know about Virginia, NJ re-elects Corzine. I'm entertaining wagers for anyone who wants to put their butts on the line their mouths are drawing.

You have no idea how radio works or for that matter, entertainment.

SOS, KILLS format and ratings. People tune out, its that simple. It would be a fool who would deny that Limbaugh has talent or that he does not bring fresh ideas to his show or that his audience is made up solely of zombie followers, his ratings and sales numbers just do not bear that out.

CNN's Cooper: I Didn't Use False Limbaugh Quotes

CNN’s Anderson Cooper became the first on his network to acknowledge that some of the quotes used against Rush Limbaugh in his NFL bid were false on his program on Wednesday: “I also should point out, on this program, we did not use the wrong quotes.” Cooper also brought back Al Sharpton as a guest, and the activist again brought up Limbaugh’s “Crips and Bloods” remark, which he took out of context.

MSNBC Admits: ‘Unable to Verify’ False Limbaugh Quote; No Retraction or Apology

During the 3:00PM ET hour of live coverage on MSNBC Friday, co-host David Shuster admitted that racially charged quotes he and other hosts attributed to Rush Limbaugh had not been verified: “MSNBC attributed that quote to a football player who was opposed to Limbaugh’s NFL bid. However, we have been unable to verify that quote independently. So, just to clarify.” Shuster did not formally retract the quote or apologize.

Huffington Post Pulls Bogus Limbaugh Quotes

The quotes were widely cited as real by several sports writers and on CNN and MSNBC in the past week as proof that Limbaugh was a racist who did not deserve to own part of the St. Louis Rams football team. But the Huffington Post has now removed them, saying the author has not been able to substantiate them.

But that comment was more of a, "Oh, no, jeez, don't let this happen to the game." I don't want to see it.  I have the game on a pedestal.  I have the people who play it on a pedestal.  I don't want that to change.  So I was criticizing a mind-set that is destructive, and it was not helpful.  It was not racial.  Bloods and Crips makes it look racial, the way I chose to describe it.  I could have perhaps chosen a different term.

http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_101409/content/01125113.guest.html

a whole LOT of backpeddaling going on.  Even he admits the comment came off as racist.

As long as Rush continues to get under the skin of liberals, he is doing his job.
