Not everyone can be so easily bought. And what do you think they will do when Momma says no?

LOL, Tazzy, what do I think they'll do when Momma says no?
As you said earlier, get a good lawyer.
"Bye Bye Momma!"

My lawyer up in New Hampshire once told me; "When they say it's not about the money, ....it's about the money!"

tazzygirl -> RE: Sharpton has asked the NFL to nix Limbaugh's purchase of the Rams (10/12/2009 5:36:55 PM)

Tazzy, *Everyone* can be bought, you just have to know what their "price" is.
And yes, I'm a white male.
And for the limits of this discussion *my price* is $3 Million and I'd suit up!
I wouldn't care if George Bush and Bill Clinton were stockholders in the team!
"36! 48!.....24!.....hut!"

tazzygirl -> RE: Sharpton has asked the NFL to nix Limbaugh's purchase of the Rams (10/12/2009 5:43:28 PM)

lol... you have no way to understand what im saying, especially as a white male.. so im not going to argue with you about this... while many can be bought... there are exceedingly more who cannot. many in the NFL have already come out against playing for Rush... and i think the players should have a voice in the decision as to whom they have to play for. We dont allow racism in the work place... and this IS another workplace. The NFL is a huge business.. and these players do have special talents. If they have another bidder who will even come close.. Rush wont get the nod.

Tazzy, ...I don't know, have you seen those Mercedes Benz "S-Class" cars?
I'd be an organ-grinder's monkey wearing the hat and everything to be able to own one of those!

~FR~

I think Rush is a pathetic wind bag piece of shit.

That being said, I do not believe he should be denied the ability to own any business, within the confines of that established business and the law. Allow the players out of their contracts, let him negotiate for new players, and deal with what any other business owner has to deal with when they are unpopular with the employees of their business.

tazzygirl -> RE: Sharpton has asked the NFL to nix Limbaugh's purchase of the Rams (10/12/2009 6:01:58 PM)

The only problem i see, Master Orion, is the draft.

I agree that he has the right to own any business he wants to own. But if the other owners, or the league itself, decide not to approve his proposal, then they have the right to tell him no. Their right of approval takes precedence over his right to purchase a team.

tazzy, I've never heard of ANY business in which the employees get to vote on who buys the business.

I have nothing but contempt for Limbaugh.  That said, if a diehard liberal or a diehard conservative wants to buy a football team, let them.  Hell, Ted Turner is pretty liberal and he bought the Atlanta Braves with nary a peep from anyone.

Plus if he blows all his money on a football team, he'll have less for Oxycontin, so he'll break the law less.  [:D]

Actually, they do have that right, entirely.  According to the NFL statutes and by-laws, any person, persons or organization that wishes to purchase an NFL team not only must have the means to do so, they also must be approved by the NFL players union, owners union and other team owners.  It's already very common knowledge that he does not have that approval, from a majority of any of the three, much less a majority of all three.  In fact, he has a HUGE majority that have already said, "IF it goes far enough that we vote on it, we're saying 'No.'."

Well, that and he tends to keep his mouth shut more often than Rush, and is actually a good businessperson.

The problem Orion is that the value of a team is only as strong as the NFL as a whole. Or, put another way, if a team or owner lessens the value of the NFL, all the teams in the business suffer. It should be up to the NFL, not the government but the NFL itself to decide if they want to take the risk of allowing Limbaugh to be an NFL owner.

As for the post, Sharpton...Limbaugh...jeez, they're both rather fabulous examples of surplus population in my opinion.  I propose we shift it to a sport I actually enjoy, put them both in the Octagon, and see who comes out standing.

I have always enjoyed clicking on your posts and I hope that I will for many years to come. Very selfish of me I know, but you do get something out of the deal for yourself if it works out.

So happy birthday!
