I do know money talks and so do law suites for that very reason. I just depends on the will of the people involved...If Limbaugh is serious it would mean big trouble for owners nixing his participation. So… because they basically like him and agree with his views they will use the threat of a law suite as an excuse. I have no idea if anyone wants to go that far…but the possibility is there. Butch

Butch Google the USFL's lawsuit against the league .....they won their suit and recieved a $3 dollar windfall.Major sports leagues enjoy lofty legal positions in American courts. How else would one explain the existance of the draft itself.....imagine any other profession where your freedom to work for whomever you choose could legally be abridged....other than sports.It's the only way to run a profitable and competitive league.

From my understanding. the NFL is a non profit organization (hard to believe that one, but thats what they say). As a Franchisee (hope i spelled that right) they dont have to accept anyone. Its their product to sell. Rush would have to prove he was discriminated against... which would be extremely hard to do since he has money and is white. The only discrimination he could possibly swing out of the air would be the comments he made against NFL players. Alas, as much as i have searched, i have not found the requirements and rules for becoming an NFL team owner.

Rush goes to several NFL games each year and sits with the owner in their suite. Maybe, just maybe he has already talked to many of them ? He might already have the votes needed.

I just heard that as well...I spent awhile trying to find the bylaws online...couldn't do it. Myself I hope he withdraws his bid...I'm from Missouri and would hate to have Limbaugh as an owner... But I feel that way because I personally don't like his politics not because I don't feel he has a right to be an owner. It seems to me it is not right to take a freedom of any kind away from someone because of his or her politics... If I had the money...and I was not a criminal…and the seller wanted to sell to me… then I should be able buy. If someone denied me this right because of my politics then it is no different than not selling me a house because of my race. Butch

Whoa. You sure do under estimate people. If someone is a crappy owner, then they will having crappy personel, crappy fans, and soon the crappiness will force them to get rid of the team or dissolve it. It wouldn't destroy the league. The NFL should be forced to run like any other business, if they are a for profit business. If they are a non-profit then they should fall under the rules and regs for that. I do not see a violation here. Now I say make the sale, then when dickwad opens his mouth and makes a comment that is damaging to the NFL, you start fining him, and eventually run him out. Yeah and we all know how open the PC market is as well, and there are many anti-trust laws going there too.
