No spin, sadly... i do enjoy spinning .... [:D]

The attorneys for Fox, owned by media baron Rupert Murdoch, successfully argued the First Amendment gives broadcasters the right to lie or deliberately distort news reports on the public airwaves. We are pushing for a consumer protection solution that labels news content according to its adherence to ethical journalism standards that have been codified by the Society of Professional Journalists (Ethics: spj.org).

Now this is about the mildest report i could find on this issue. Im sure many may remember this.

This is the back up story... again... about the most unbiased version i could find.

That's good news tazzy, thanks for sharing. I'm glad journalists have won the right to say their peice without having to worry endlessly over getting sued if they use the wrong word in a news report or on an opinion oriented talk show. That's really fantastic, strike one up for free speech!

Kinda like having to do a study to determine if the sky is blue, Sanity, but having a news outlet admit a conservative bias, instead of doing an endless dance of having liberal reporters, analysts, editors and producers claim they are "purely objective," has brought all sorts of stupidity out of the woodwork.

I'm going to have to dig out that link of the MSNBC reporter calling President Bush a "monkey" during a live broadcast again, aren't I?

tazzygirl -> RE: The White House vs. Fox News (10/12/2009 8:12:07 PM)

Once bitten, twice shy?

My videos won't bite, I've had dealings with the moderator here and I don't believe her sense of humor would cover me all too well if I were to post anything thats viral, so you can bet mine are safe.

Nothing malicious from me, either.  Just... let's say I find unusual ways of making my point from time to time. [;)]

The ratings do not lie. Fox news has been number 1 in prime time for years. No one else even comes close.

Sure they do.

Just because someone watches it doesn't mean they agree with it, it's just mindless entertainment.

I watch it often just to muse at the stupidity some people will believe.

The newest Rassmussen poll: Obamas approval rating 49%. His disapproval ratting is 49%. He is fading fast. FOX just reported on it.

Considering Rasmussen is a frequent guest on Fox and an outspoken conservative, most people have the sense to realize his polls are not what you could call unbiased.

CBS, AP, and McClatchy all had Obama's approval rating at 56% in last week's polls.

Advertisers don't give a shit WHY you are watching, RML, they just want to sell you deoderant.  I'm sure Rupert Murdoch appreciates your support.  Personally, I very rarely watch Fox News.

Most likely, they will get a lot more viewers now, who want to see what the President of the United States feels is worth spending his political capital to fight.

Fox has nothing better to do with their time for the next 3 years, 1 month, than to be at war with the President, and make even more money selling deoderant.  I would hope the Obama administration could find a better way to use their time....

Fox News is one of the most respectable, facsist news sources in America and the most accurate news station that ever existed, it is the absolute answer to the meaning of life and it is the most unbiased and greatest news agency ever to exist. It is said by most to be the modern equivalent to the Holy Bible and functions in much the same way. Its top notch staff includes Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly. It is believed that all news channels will eventually evolve into the exact opposite of conservative Fox News except Fox News itself. Fox is known for rigidly following their slogan of fair and balanced. Anyone who disagrees with Fox News is wrong!

Cute.  Yet the Obama administration feels sufficiently threatened by them to be sending out the Communications Director to get in a pissing contest with them.

Petty, and small.  Not what I would hope to expect from a guy who just won the Nobel Peace Prize.
