This administration just can't understand why every political commentator doesn't have a tingle up his or her leg like Matthews.

Calling Fox biased, while ignoring NBC's connection to the administration, with their multiple news channels is pure ignorance at it's best, and hypocrisy at it's usual democratic supporting worst.

Thadius -> RE: The White House vs. Fox News (10/13/2009 8:00:58 PM)

How does the old saying go about arguing with somebody that buys ink by the barrel?

Oh, and is this sort of like the pissing match that Nixon got into with the NY Times?

Our president needs to get a little bit thicker skin, at least for him it is only one "news" outlet that is hard on him, the last 2 presidents weren't as lucky.

Just sayin,
Thadius

gift4mistress -> RE: The White House vs. Fox News (10/13/2009 8:49:03 PM)

OH NO! Some one is challenging the King... in a democracy? What is this NON-SENSE? I say burn FOX for reporting the news that the ABC channels won't report. I think this is outrageous. What's worse, FOX justifies this by using this so-called "first amendment" that we all know is a conspiracy manifested by the "evil" right. Lastly, I find myself glued to the TV set with the inability to change the channel. So, I am going to advocate for the shutdown of FOX.

The above is the mindset of almost every liberal in this country. If they don't like something they want it to be shutdown. But, they know they can't do this through logic. So instead, they create these hypocritical claims on how FOX is "deceiving the people." While at the same time, the left (MSNBC, CBS, and NBC) aren't any different.

According to http://www.mediaresearch.org/biasbasics/biasbasics1.asp. A majority of journalist (80%) have been voting democratic since 1964.

According to ABC news http://abcnews.go.com/Story?id=6099188&page=1 (the channel that held the info commercial on Obama health-care) has even pointed out the media bias during the presidential campaign.

John Stossel, an ex-ABC news journalist said When I announced last week that I was leaving ABC for Fox, some readers complained about my "bias." I replied: "Every reporter has political beliefs. The difference is that I am upfront about mine."

When the majority of all journalist in the media are democratic. Do you really believe that most of them aren't going to have a partisan essence attached to their reporting? In the video from CNN http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/09/12/tea.party.rally/#cnnSTCVideo, it's very obvious every person they showed lacked the skills to be articulate, and all the people were white. There was this one scene where this older white guy was hitting the sign of one of the tea-party protesters. But, what they didn't tell you was that the man with the mustache was part of an opposing protest. Thus, leaving you with the impression that there was a crazy old tea party douche hitting these poor innocent protesters.

In the first article, a journalist discusses is perception on what he was seeing during the campaign. For instance, he descriped how he found himself yelling at the tv/lap top because of the biased reporting he was noticing. He also stated that "... worst of all, for the last couple weeks, I've begun -- for the first time in my adult life -- to be embarrassed to admit what I do for a living."

The last article talks about how the media tries to paint a picture of them being "fair" and not promoting any kind of partisan agenda which is a fallcy. By contrast, much of the FOX commentators and journalist are quite open about them leaning more towards the right (Bill O'reilly for instance).

In all, FOX is reporting the news that most of the left wing media is refusing to report. Bye the way, if you don't like FOX then don't watch it.

Sit and watch an hour of Fox.

Then sit and watch an hour of ABC.

Count how many times Fox makes direct attacks on liberals, Obama, and the Democratic Party as opposed to ABC directly attacking conservatives or the Republican Party.

Apples and oranges (or broadcast network with a news division and cable news and commentary).  How does your little taste test come out with Fox vs. MSNBC?

Of course, belittle my age. I wouldn't want you to trip over your words trying to argue with any sense of logic.

Apples and oranges was the comparison he made.  I just responded to it.

I'm not a big fan of MSNBC either, as I've stated before.

But Uncle Rupert started the ball rolling.

tazzygirl -> RE: The White House vs. Fox News (10/13/2009 9:54:34 PM)

I saw no logic... i saw alot of spinning... lol... they borrow from each other, and if you expect ANY of them to give you the absolute truth... lol.. as i said... your tender age.

Well, that was an interesting but completely irrelevant response.

Do what I suggested then come back and tell me in what ways ABC promoted everything liberal.

In fact we can make it a challenge.

You pick a time and day and I'll watch Fox and point out the bias I see and you watch ABC and do the same.

Then we can compare our findings and do a poll on here to judge the results.

So, you agree that all the other news channels do the same type of biased partisan reporting as FOX? Which is my original argument if you read my first post.

She was probably just assuming that the lack of maturity in your arguments ("The above is the mindset of almost every liberal in this country") was due to your youth. If there's some other explanation for your rash leaps of logic and the emotional extremes that often seem to characterize your posts, perhaps you could share it with us, so we don't judge you unfairly.

Just as an aside, didn't you just tell me yesterday that you almost never watch Fox?

Which then brings on the obvious question of how you can judge something as apples and oranges when you don't watch it.

I did.

That's how I decided to respond.

If I had ignored it we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Perhaps you should actually read it. Because if you did, you will notice that I use 3 articles which proves the partisan on behalf of ABC, CNN, CBS, MSNBC, and etc. Also, I agree that FOX is partisan. I have never said that FOX isn't, and I would like to clear that up.

You know guys really, you and Tazzy are trying to attack his age instead of the arguments he presents.

I don't agree with his viewpoints but don't attack his viewpoints based on his age.

If you look at some of our other conservative posters the arguments are remarkably similar.

Wasnt it Fox who complained the other stations didnt cover the same news reports with the same vigor as Fox?

Isnt it Fox who claims "Fair and Balanced"?

ABC claims... nothing

CBS claims... nothing

CNN claims... nothing

The rest follow suit. Only Fox makes claims it cannot, and has not, backed up.
