Hierodule -> RE: Believer(s) of god are plague to this world. (11/30/2009 10:33:53 AM)

Ummmm Allah and Yaweh are the same god. The god of Abraham who asked him to sacrifice his son.  It was the division between the son's of Abraham, Isaac (the legitimate son) and Ishmael (the son of adultery) that caused the split between Arabs (who were not yet Muslim) and Jews. The sons of Isaac becoming the Jews and the sons of Ishmael becoming the Arabs.

Its ironic that the three religions in the world that do the most violence to each other are the three who also worship the same God. Two of which (Judaism and Islam) claim a common genetic ancestor (who may or may not have been a real historic figure) as the father of their race.

"Judaism, Christianity and Islam are sometimes referred to as the "Abrahamic religions" because of the progenitor role Abraham plays in their holy books. In the Jewish tradition, he is called Avraham Avinu or "Abraham, our Father". God promised Abraham that through his offspring, all the nations of the world will come to be blessed (Genesis 12:3), interpreted in Christian tradition as a reference particularly to Christ. Jews, Christians, and Muslims consider him father of the people of Israel through his son Isaac (cf. Exodus 6:3, Exodus 32:13) by his wife Sarah. For Muslims, he is a prophet of Islam and the ancestor of Muhammad through his other son Ishmael – born to him by Sarah's servant, Hagar. (Jews and Christians refer to Hagar as Sarah's servant.) Abraham is also a progenitor of the Semitic tribes of the Negev who trace their descent from their common ancestor Sheba (Genesis 10:28)."

Them Muslims practise penis mutilation, do not they? Then per my definition they are not Muslims, but Jews. They even profess to worship the same God as the Jews, instead of Allah as Mohammed was sent to admonish them to do.

You may be mistaken on this point Rule. Here is a contradiction from Wiki. Please note that the reference to "sinful" behavior is as profoundly condemning as you can get in biblical terms. The denominations listed below are all quite Christian.

"Christian denominations hold a variety of views on the issue of homosexual activity, ranging from outright condemnation to complete acceptance. In accordance with the traditional values of Abrahamic religions,[1] most Christian denominations welcome people attracted to the same sex, but teach that same sex relationships and homosexual sex are sinful.[2][3] These denominations include the Roman Catholic Church,[4] the Eastern Orthodox church,[5] the Methodist Church,[6][2][7][8] and many other mainline denominations, such as the Reformed Church in America[9] and the American Baptist Church,[10] as well as Conservative Evangelical organizations and churches, such as the Evangelical Alliance,[11] and fundamentalist groups and churches, such as the Southern Baptist Convention.[12][13][14] Pentecostal churches such as the Assemblies of God,[15] as well as Restorationist churches, like Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons, also take the position that gay sexual activity is immoral.[16][17]"

I think the implication is that if one acts in a "sinful" manner one has fallen from Grace. I fail to understand your obsession with mutilated penises. Nor do I see how you can place homophobia solely upon Jews.

I am (nearly) never mistaken.

There is quite a difference between teaching and practicing.

It is very good that Christian churches teach that homosexuality is sinful. The essence of Christianity is that sexually transmitted diseases remain at a low frequency in the population, but do not become eradicated. If they taught that homosexuality was not sinful, then the frequency of sexually transmitted diseases would increase which would harm both the population and the gene pool as the effect of such diseases on the sexually selective mating behaviour of females would cease to have meaning.

It does not mean that homosexuals are not in a state of grace. By transmitting sex associated diseases they perform a function that is essential and beneficial to the health of the gene pool. Hurrah for homosexuals!

Now, which populations according to you do not have mutilated penises but are homophobic?

I've heard you make this outlandish statement on a few occasions. Claiming that one is a supergenius is pretty indicative of a want to be intelligent, but certainly not of much else, if you exclude the fact that it's a trait typical of a flamboyant narcissistic personality.

You're not a genius, rule. You are obssessed with a couple of completely cuckoo theories, that's all [;)] .

You could do with a couple of courses in genetics. The Y chromosome has nearly no functional genes. Distinguishing populations by their Y chromosome is pointless. There have always been Arabs; in any case the Arab populations existed long before Abraham and Isaac.

Would you kindly give us your citations that point to the understanding by the early churches of the germ theory of sexually transmitted diseases, on the relative frequency of sexually transmitted diseases homo v hetero, of the existence of a gene pool, of germ theory, and of the selective mating behavior of females in the first oh say ten centuries c.e. Citing your own imagined genius as a source is not acceptable for this exercise. Sorry. LMAO!

Good answer. Well done.

However, I suspect that situation is more complex than even a very deep look will reveal. I do not recall that the German people pre-nazi and post-nazi were homophobic - but I may be wrong. But if I am right, then it does evoke the question why the nazi were homophobic as apparently then it was not characteristic of the German population.

Okay, I won't.

Nor did I ever say that the Christians understood such things - though they certainly prohibited blood marriages as they knew those were deleterious to the gene pool, i.e. that they were more likely to result in congenitally defective progeny than non-blood marriages.

So it is your opinion that in order for a bacterium (or any other species) to evolve each individual must first have taken a 21st century academic degree in evolution biology, hm? I bet that you cannot tell me what a bacterium sitting on Mount Everest and drinking a pina colada is thinking.

Hm, you ought not to head-bang; it damages brains. Truly.

So you - erroneously - think that phenotypical changes that are not the result of (changes in) allele frequencies in the gene pool (I need to point out that the urge to circumcize, as any behaviour, may - and eventually even must - be genetically encoded) do not affect reproductive success.

Let me demonstrate the error of your ways by a rather crude example. Say that I effect a phenotypical change in your body. I choose decapitation. Now please explain to me why the reproductive success of your body is not affected by your decapitation?

Absolutely. The Catholic attitude towards contraception has more or less eliminated STDs in Africa, hasn't it?

I am optimistic about that. Once everybody who indiscriminately makes love to anything with two legs over there is dead, I guarantee that the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases in Africa will be quite low.
