For makeup tips, this is really awesome: http://mizzchievouz.blogspot.com/. I found one of her videos on You Tube (I bought a "Bump It" off TV but couldn't figure out how to use it! LOL!!) but then I went to her Blogspot and she is really talented! She has these little tutorials, usually only about 2-5 minutes and shows how to do all kinds of makeup styles...from "natural look" and "makeup for younger girls" to "Gothic Makeup" and "Vamp Eyes". She also shows you which tools & brushes to use and shares little secrets of how to make it work. She does some hairstyles too, but most the things she does can be done in a few minutes and she really gives a good tutorial, it is amazing that she is actually a fairly "plain" looking girl naturally, but can totally transform herself with each look. A lot of the things she uses she either has available on her website or will post links of where you can get it. She even has a section of "inexpensive makeup" finds and will tell you which things are worth splurging on. I think makeup is a great place to start, because it makes you want to go buy new cute outfits. If your girl doesn't know what outfits to buy or how to put things together, go window shopping one day until she comes across a store that appeals to you both. (Flipping through magazines can also give great ideas!) But when you get to the store, point at what's on the mannequin (the girls who work there usually style the mannequins) and tell them, "I want THAT in my size, but with pants instead of a skirt" and they will help you put things together. They work on commission and are paid to help you. You can even tell them, "I want to get 3 complete outfits and I only have $200" and they'll help put different things together. Mix & match is a great way to make a lot of cute outfits out of only a few items...then doll it up with a pair of heels (DSW, TJ Maxx, and Ross's are great places to get BARGAINS GALORE) and some inexpensive earrings & bracelets from Clair's or Icing. Once she finds a few things she likes and make her feel pretty, it will be easier to find other things on her own. Once she figures out her own style, then she can start bargain shopping for the things she knows she's after. If you have access to a Frederick's of Hollywood store, it is SOOO much better to buy big-booby bras there. They are so much nicer than at Victoria's Secret (I think they are snobs) and their DD (or bigger) bras are sturdier (read: hold those puppies UP) but all of them are SEXXY (even the ones for the big-big girls!) If I could only invest in one thing it would be a black or red corset/bustier. They look damn sexy on their own, with panties & garter/belt & stockings, but can also be worn under a blazer to work, under an oversized sweater or cardigan with jeans, or with a skirt with a shawl or wrap over your shoulders. They push your ta-tas up to THERE, slim your waist to Dita Von Tees proportions and make you feel sexy (even if their not laced up super tight). Who DOESN'T feel sexy in a corset??
