tazzygirl -> So much for Dr-patient confidentiality (10/24/2009 6:28:17 AM)

Would they be so quick to put up a similar web site for prostatectomies?

This is utter bs.  Makes me feel like they are saying getting an abortion is the same as being a sex offender.

pahunkboy -> RE: So much for Dr-patient confidentiality (10/24/2009 6:34:10 AM)

I am not a big fan of abortions... and yet this does seem heavy handed.

What about HIPPA?

What about stalkers?   There is such a thing.

kittinSol -> RE: So much for Dr-patient confidentiality (10/24/2009 6:37:45 AM)

From the ABC link: "While the litigants object to the invasion of privacy, their lawsuit challenges the law on more technical grounds. It charges that House Bill 1595 covers more than one subject and therefore violates the state constitution.
The plaintiffs hope to delay implementation of the law and the planned March 1, 2010, launch of the Web site. "

You would have thought that Sen. Todd Lamb, of Edmond, and Rep. Dan Sullivan, of Tulsa, had more important things to do with their time than try to victimise women because of the medical choices they make. They say this law is to "protect the sanctity of life", but they obviously have no regards for the lives of the women that will be wrecked by their disgusting and evil legislation.

Phoenixpower -> RE: So much for Dr-patient confidentiality (10/24/2009 6:37:55 AM)

Or what about lung cancer patients? Where still shockingly often I hear people thinking the person MUST HAVE smoked a lot...come on, I want a homepage for those then, too...[8|]

What a nonsense [&o]

kittinSol -> RE: So much for Dr-patient confidentiality (10/24/2009 6:39:24 AM)

I want a website for men that get prescribed Viagra.

Lucylastic -> RE: So much for Dr-patient confidentiality (10/24/2009 6:43:48 AM)

I was so sick over it I couldnt face the thought of posting  Tazzy, its despicable.

LadyEllen -> RE: So much for Dr-patient confidentiality (10/24/2009 6:44:23 AM)

The collection of anonymous statistics for analysis to some lawful end is one thing - this is something utterly different it seems, along the lines of a "name and shame" policy that has the potential to bring harassment and violence on anyone publicly  identified thereby and so have the consequent effect of limiting freedom of action through the generation of an environment characterised by fear in which the state must be held to aid and abet; state sponsored terrorism in other words.

As such it should have no place in a liberal democratic society that purports to respect and promote human rights, let alone one which is an avowed opponent, on principle, of such officially sanctioned mechanisms in other cases. One might even go so far as to say that the construction of this policy implies its true motivations and origins which would be I believe unconstitutional in the USA even if the human rights issue did not apply and even if the allegation of state sponsored terrorism did not apply.

And one for known obscene phone callers and the best times to reach them.

It ain't so much a question of not knowin' what to do
I knowed whut's right and wrong since I been ten
I heared a lota stories and I reckon they are true
About how girls're put upon by men
I know I mustn't fall into the pit
But when I'm with a feller, I fergit!
I'm jist a girl who cain't say no
I'm in a turrible fix
I always say "come on, let's go"
Jist when I orta say nix!
When a person tries to kiss a girl
I know she oughta give his face a smack
But as soon as someone kisses me
I somehow, sorta, wanta kiss him back!
I'm jist a fool when lights are low
I cain't be prissy and quaint
I ain't the type that can faint
How c'n I be whut I ain't?
I cain't say no!
Whut you goin' to do when a feller gits flirty
And starts to talk purty? whut you goin' to do?
S'posin' 'at he says 'at yer lips're like cherries
Er roses, er berries? Whut you goin' to do?
S'posin' 'at he says 'at you're sweeter 'n cream
And he's gotta have cream er die?
Whut you goin' to do when he talks that way
Spit in his eye?
I'm jist a girl who cain't say no
Cain't seem to say it at all
I hate to disserpoint a beau
When he is payin' a call!
Fer a while I ack refined and cool
A settin on the velveteen setee
Nen I think of thet ol' golden rule
And do fer him what he would do fer me!
I cain't resist a Romeo
In a sombrero and chaps
Soon as I sit on their laps
Somethin' inside of me snaps
I cain't say no!

Oklahoma!
Where the wind comes sweeping down the plain
Where the waving wheat
Can sure smell sweet
When the wind comes right behind the rain

We know we belong to the land
And the land we belong to is grand
And when we say Yeeow!
Ayipioeeay! Yeeow!
We're only saying "You're doin' fine Oklahoma"
Oklahoma O-K

Cue the banjos

It's utterly sickening how women's rights get kidnapped by cynical politicians in need of wedge issues - and so frustrating that people keep on parrotting the same tired cliches about abortion, as if women were in favour of it, when all we want is the right to make that choice for ourselves without having to justify it to the state, and now, the fucking public online [>:] .

Enough bullshit already: the women of Oklahoma should all leave the state in protest. See how well the men manage in their absence [:D] .

OrionTheWolf -> RE: So much for Dr-patient confidentiality (10/24/2009 7:18:26 AM)

I think this is utter bullshit as well. I have stood beside three different females that went through this procedure, and it was difficult enough without this political and sanctimonious crap.

Abortion is one of the things many moderate Republicans have said will be the death of that party, and they are right.

KYsissy -> RE: So much for Dr-patient confidentiality (10/24/2009 7:23:34 AM)

Regardless of where you stand on the abortion issue, this is just wrong.

I agree

So there's gonna be a corral full of lonely, horny fellers?!

The farmer and the cowman should be friends
Oh, the farmer and the cowman should be friends
One man likes to push a plough
The other likes to chase a cow
But that's no reason why they cain't be friends

Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful dayyyyyyyyyyyy.

Its the only means left available to him to make others think he's an upstanding member of the media?

Rather than just a dick?

What an awful law.  I hope it is thrown out very quickly.
