quote:
ORIGINAL: SpinnerofTales ~FR~ As much as I hate to say it, I don't think that Limbaugh deserves the same treatment Rather received. Dan Rather was a newsman, a journalist. It was his responsibility to present news that was accurate. Limbaugh is an entertainer who has never been held to any standards of truth, fairness of reason. If he were not allowed to lie outrageously, make comments as vile as allowed by the FCC and present his own twisted view of things, he would not be on the radio in the first place. As sad as it was to see a fine journalistic career end in disgrace, it was the only answer to what he had been a part of. The only answer to Rush is to, as most intelligent people do, shake your head at his nonsense and go on with more important things. Myself, I look at it the opposite. Rather had a long, distinguished career and was well-respected. One mistake, and my understanding is he believed the sources had been checked by others in the organization, does not overshadow the jounalistic integrity he displayed for years. As far as Rush being an entertainer, you and I both know he is not viewed that way by the majority of his supporters.
