Good old Limppa and Dan Rather are brothers now…they both took it upon themselves to spew gossip that turns out to be a hoax. I wonder if Limppa will be hounded out of his job the way Rather was?…Is there any difference in their actions I ask?

Anyway HERE is the story.

Just another example of his irresponsible divisive hate politics at any cost...even the truth...

How many hours before he claims he was victimized by liberals who are trying to destroy the country?

As much as I hate to say it, I don't think that Limbaugh deserves the same treatment Rather received. Dan Rather was a newsman, a journalist. It was his responsibility to present news that was accurate. Limbaugh is an entertainer who has never been held to any standards of truth, fairness of reason. If he were not allowed to lie outrageously, make comments as vile as allowed by the FCC and present his own twisted view of things, he would not be on the radio in the first place.

As sad as it was to see a fine journalistic career end in disgrace, it was the only answer to what he had been a part of. The only answer to Rush is to, as most intelligent people do, shake your head at his nonsense and go on with more important things.

Unless, of course, you happen to see him crossing the street in front of you as you're driving down the road. Then you run him over with your car.

Edit: And then back over him to make sure.

Every time I listen to Limbaugh he reminds me of the drunk at the bar who just won't shut up no matter how stupid he sounds.

Maybe still popping the oxycontin?

But what amazes me is how many people cannot seem to see him for what he is. Watch ….it will be poor Limbaugh is a victim of liberal plot to discredit him.

Myself, I look at it the opposite.

Rather had a long, distinguished career and was well-respected.  One mistake, and my understanding is he believed the sources had been checked by others in the organization, does not overshadow the jounalistic integrity he displayed for years.

As far as Rush being an entertainer, you and I both know he is not viewed that way by the majority of his supporters.

Is this about those made-up racist quotes that Rush was being accused of spouting, but that he never spouted?

There seem to be a great many hoaxes of late.

Groan. But maybe this is why I do not understand some of the responses lately.

You are right, there is so much in common when one makes up false information and refuses to admit it and on did not do enough fact checking and admits they were taken. Add to that one is supposed to be a reporter and one a commentator.

There is no hate like liberal hate..............

So you're point is that Dan Rather was someone we were supposed to take seriously while Rush is not? I agree completely.

Thru out the 2004 election- I got along with die hard bush supporters.  This being the spin off yahoo group.  We were able to talk candidly about our fears and dreams.

A buddy from the group phoned me last night.  I am so glad we did not wreck a friendship over politics.

We both see how the basics of America are compromised.

Of course Rush simply making up false claims is worse than Rather failing at fact checking a story but I think the point is that if what Rather did was justification for running him off the air then Rush should hang up his mike.

Rather did not "make up" the information but received some questionable facts he reported, and later apologized for on-air.

There is no failure to pay attention to facts like those who worship at Rush's feet.................

Works for me.  However, does that mean Palin becomes the commentator? Does that increase or decrease the intellectual content?
