would you let her in or make her stay out.

yes this post is stupid feel free to mock it if you want, but lets not ok?

Ginger lays in bed all day and rarely does anything She used to be very active when we got her,  and then she got fatter than she already was due to someone elses poor care* not ours*  Now she's so fat cause we free feed her and didn't really walk her, since she has a huge y ard, and I am fixing that food part and I try to walk her everyday,. Since she's gotten fatter, She's now VERY lazy and tires to quick, she won't hardly play or run or do anything she used to want to do and beg to do. So I am starting to make her go out and actually be outside, I also walk her everyday if possible.

so I t hought I'd close the door and keep her outside but she's crying and whining and yapping at my door, and is probably  on the floor pouting on the otherside of the door.  I should o closed the other door so she'd be outside completely and I wouldn't hear her yapping.

the dog is probably cold and lonely.  would it kill you to take her for a real walk?

ginger used to love going out, but she got fatter than before. and so there for laz. She used to be outside all the time, she'd follow my dad out and go play in the yard, she'd chase a stick or a ball she'd play raggie, she'd let you run after her and she'd play keep away.

Now she's just kind of a lump, but I am working on that.

Edited to use HotFaerieMama's name properly.

she is used to her enclosed little world and it is probably scary to be tossed out. I agree with Odie...if you want her to get some exercise you really need to take her for a walk.

When I first got two of my dogs I lived in an apartment ... therefore they became apartment dogs not outside yard dogs.. So now that I live in a house one of the dogs goes out and will play in the yard the other not so much. What I have to do is walk her if i want her to get exercise , which in turn helps me. The other thing you can do is do "training" which may not be physical exercise so much, but will work their minds and wear them out just the same. Dogs aren't like cats they don't entertain themselves. They require a lot more maintenance. You are going to have to be proactive.

Walk her twice a day, a mile each time. She will be getting the proper exercise as will you.

Apart from as others have said, walking her. Try staying out with her for 10 mins then go in, kick a ball or something, go in give her another 10 mins, go back out with her.

rinse, repeat. she'll soon work out she isnt being abandoned.

dogs, like most humans, prefer to not be alone, and will usually be in a pack or family unit.  right now she's probably wondering why she is being punished and not allowed to be part of the "pack"

so, go take her for a walk, or play with her and one of her favorite toys for awhile.

As others have pointed out, and as a long time dog owner myself, you have to play and walk and run with the dog in order for it to know why it's outside (other than to do it's business). The dog can eventually learn to be comfortable with being outside but you, as the owner/master, have to actively show the pooch how to do it.

There is no substitute for this. It isn't going to read your mind as to what you want it to do.

she is traumatized and will remain so unless you get out there with her.

She's eating:)

That's also why I wanted her outside, she's been in my room for about 8 hours, since last night, and had not eaten yet but I did play with her for a few moments an then she wanted to eat.

I'll also take a break in a little bit an go run with her.

She used to love being outside, and at her moms she was chained to a long teather, since the yard wasn't fenced, and kept outside all day when not in the house. She's just gotten very lazy due to my softness for her.
