Does this mean there is an "Uncivil War" brewing on the other side too?

The election may be over, but the political ads aren't. The governor is now taking to the air waves to convince New Yorkers he deserves to stay in office.

Paterson, whose popularity currently hovers in the 20 percent range, was seriously wounded when Obama let it be known he didn't want Paterson to run because Republicans like Rudy Giuliani consistently beat him in the polls. But Obama's recent lack of success in backing local candidates, including New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine, has empowered Paterson.

"The President went to New Jersey five times for Corzine and wasn't able to turn that around, so I think here in New York, New Yorkers know everything is local," said Lynch.

Not sure where you're going with this, Merc.

Patterson is a very unpopular governor. Yes, he's in trouble on all sides. To be fair, he's now facing an impossible budget task, as 20% of NYS's revenue comes from Wall Street (a structural problem he inherited from way back), but he's got the backing of basically no one here.

There's a lot more to add, but its a tangled story of the mess that is NYS politics, rather than a representation of a national issue. Yes, expect him to be challenged in the primary if he runs for re-election. And yes, he and Obama aren't fond of each other either.

How did you feel about it when Bush did the same?

I guess it comes down to the credibility of who is giving speeches and fund-raising.

A sitting President versus a failed governor and failed vice-presidential candidate.

So we agree for a change! The sitting President has 0 credibility.

You were truly unaware that socialists and communists such as Stalin espouse leftists ideals?

Amazing. What are they teaching in schools these days. Knitting?

Stalin was a leftie? And there was me thinking he was an autocratic control freak who leaned to the right.

Sanity, they're being taught in school today that the use of tyrannic force, mass murder, and political oppression is an exclusive tool of the right, both historically and today.

They're being taught that the KKK consisted exclusively of Republicans.

They'e being taught that only Republicans have led our country into war, directly or indirectly, and the reason always is to support big business and profits that make greedy businessmen even richer.

They're being taught that we deserved to be attacked on 911.

They're being taught that we went into Iraq solely because Bush's father didn't like Hussein, that we wanted profits for politicians' oil-rich pals, and because the Vice President made money on Haliburton.

They're being taught that insulting President Bush was patriotic, and that questioning President Obama is racist.

I hear these things from my students, and from my son in high school, but it's seeping in at all levels. Did you see what was on Sesame Street lately?

Very well put Nemesys, and very accurate.

Welcome to the forums.

They should also be reminded that Robert Byrd ( D ) was a member of the KKK.

Maybe you should google (if they are on there) the 15 or so schools around the country singing Obama songs. These poor students are being indoctrinated. Instead of learning math, they are praising the messiah..

Because of them WMD thingies.

You know.

The thingies we knew they had, we knew where they were, and we invaded to remove those thingies.

Mission accomplished!

Considering Obama has only been Prez for ten months means they really bloody revised everything from Bush's regime to Obamas tyranny in the summer vacation? That was damn fast and thorough, least of all a complete about face to what was being taught say this time ...last year????.
Im calling bullshit on this.

plus...the sesame skit was originally aired 2 years ago and included calling CNN Grouchy news network plus a whole whack of other stuff later on ....
"Later in the episode, Anderson Cooper from 4th place CNN, guest stars as a reporter for GNN," notes the vexed Sesame-watcher. "He interacts with 'Walter Cranky' and 'Dan Rather-Not' — Muppets representing real-life liberal news personalities — and they talk about 'Meredith Beware-a' and 'Diane Spoiler.' But no affectionate nicknames for Fox News personalities; no Spill O’Reilly or Brittle Hume — nope, and the only disparaging characterization of real-world news is reserved for Fox: Fox is a POX. It is trashy. They didn’t even attempt to try 'MessyNBC.'"
Breitbart is looking for anything that fills his paranoia

Care to name the 15 schools??
Care to name the songs by title?,
Care to give the REAL reason these kids were singing?
Care to share how many people complained when the kids took the words of the songs home to their parents, BEFORE it happened?
I have the links and the information, can you back up your ASSertations???

Sanity -> RE: Uncivil War: Conservatives to challenge a dozen GOP candidates (11/7/2009 6:44:22 AM)

Sesame Street just replayed its anti-FOX News skit, thats why its in the news. And the curriculum in schools and colleges in the US isn't set by the president, I don't know why you might think it would be. Nemesys never suggested that.

Is that how it is up in Canada?

Lucylastic -> RE: Uncivil War: Conservatives to challenge a dozen GOP candidates (11/7/2009 6:59:46 AM)

so mentioning all the other news people odd names were anti diane sawyer and anti walter cronkite and anti CNN?
The bastards, the utter utter bastards. Or did you only hear the Pox news and trashy news parts?

Well blow me down sanity, something Obama isnt responsible for??? I dont believe it...... so who is responsible for the  crap they are being taught about the following?
who is responsible for   the use of tyrannic force, mass murder, and political oppression is an exclusive tool of the right, both historically and today.?

who is responsible for They're being taught that the KKK consisted exclusively of Republicans. ?

who is responsible for They'e being taught that only Republicans have led our country into war, directly or indirectly, and the reason always is to support big business and profits that make greedy businessmen even richer.

who is responsible for They're being taught that we deserved to be attacked on 911. ?

who is responsible for They're being taught that insulting President Bush was patriotic, and that questioning President Obama is racist. ?

who are you gonna blame????
nah dont tell me I already know the answer

Sanity -> RE: Uncivil War: Conservatives to challenge a dozen GOP candidates (11/7/2009 7:13:16 AM)

The very same people who taught Moonhead that Stalinists leaned to the right.

Lucylastic -> RE: Uncivil War: Conservatives to challenge a dozen GOP candidates (11/7/2009 7:28:47 AM)

of courseeeeeeeeeeeee the brits are to blame, HAHAHHAHHAHHa...

Britain and the United States obviously have much in common that way, Lucy. I'm surprised that you'd try to pretend any differently, usually you're fairly reasonable.

Lucylastic -> RE: Uncivil War: Conservatives to challenge a dozen GOP candidates (11/7/2009 8:16:08 AM)

When you make sense and are rational a little more often maybe Ill be more reasonable.
I wont hold my breath.

Thats one reason you Canadians and the Brits flock to this site so much, our countries and cultures are not dissimilar.
