I've been trying to exercise for a long long time, but I never knew why it hurt to do anything, my main post was about finally figuring out why I am in so much pain, In ever said they have responsibility to fix my weight, I said they had responcibility in not handling the complaints of a UTI properly. not sure where the other part of your post comes from since I don't blame medical professionals for my weight, and explaining things, like the group home and I used to be skinny, isn't passing blame or not accepting blame, it is simply explaining what happend and why, and if people see that as an excuse that's ok. I don't control their perceptions of the information I give.quote:
ORIGINAL: barelynangel Umm Tfb, didn't you say you and your boyfriend live pretty much on TV dinners, when the freezer froze didn't you say what was yours in there was two cartons of icecream? Didn't you JUST start getting some exercise? You know medical professionals have nothing to do with you losing weight or gaining weight. They are only able to ADVISE and RECOMMEND treatment -- its up to you to facilitate treatments such as losing weight, getting exercise etc. They can and many times do advise and recommend certain types of plans, but they do not sit down with patients usually and spell out the specifics. They may prescribe medication that may help but they may not like to do that because of the side effects. So no, its YOUR fault that you haven't watched your diet or exercise. Yes, you are now starting to do so and that is great, but DON'T start making excuses of its anyone other than yourself. Part of losing weight especially a lot of weight has to do with being open and honest with yourself and taking responsibility and dealing head on with issues, it also involves work and focus every day to maintain a forward movement of achievement. Every day you put veggies in your mouth instead of some fast food thing or non nutritious thing is a movement forward. Every day you make the right choices of what to eat and do, its a movement forward, every day you go out and get exercise is a movement forward. All doctors can do is prescribe a treatment, they cannot legally make someone follow it. So its time to start accepting responsibility instead of making excuses -- change your mind and move forward. You will start to see changes. It does not happen over night but from day to day you DO need to have dedication. ITs not easy and its not fun, but it sounds like in your case it is now very necessary. You''ve done really well of late having a new attitude about all this working out getting exercise trying to eat healthy -- MAINTAIN that attitude, don't allow yourself to start making excuses now. Hang in there, its not always easy but it is worth it in the end. angel
