It'd allow a lot of far right nutcases to whine about it?

So, the Americans have allowed europe to exist for the time being, ratified the vote and all proper and in order, eh?

Whats all this about then?

right, and not everyone lives in the UK, as you can see by our attitude, everyone who is anyone lives in the US.

So, in less amusing fashion, let me ask for our untutored freinds (of which I assure you, in this matter I am one)

What bleeding treaty was it?

I think she means the Lisbon treaty.  Sounds like a mess.   A EU federal tax coming too.

It is hard to beleive people WANT that.

People mostly don't give a shit one way or the other. Myself, I'd much sooner lose sovereignity to Brussels than Washington: we get to elect MEPs but we don't have any say in which tit the minority of Americans who can be arsed to vote put in power, do we?

Vote Tory for social isolation in Europe.

Horse has bolted so any language relating to how anti the treaty they are is counterproductive and they won't have any influence in Europe to change it back. This about sums up how David Cameron says all the right things (as you'd expect any owner of a PR company to do) but hasn’t got the first clue what he can and can't change and how to go about it.

another example of this: Stimulus they don't like but haven’t said what the alternative to it would have been. Postal strike they moan and blame the government for even though they have no idea how they’d get the two parties to talk sense.

Tory vote = fuck up the country further but in record time.

Word.
It's horribly depressing that the evil little cunt's going to win the next general election, isn't it?

No plans for an EU federal tax pahunk. We already contribute via our own tax system.

I'm not resigned to that fact yet I'm hoping the polls are wrong and people will see the true emptiness beneath the veneer of the conservatives.

Not as depressing as Gordon getting back in.

Just as you all forget the periods of stability under Thatcher, Brown was partly getting the benefit of economic plans started under the conservatives, and partly selling of the family silver, pun intended. I wont even get into the stealing from pension funds.

The thread is about the vote on the European constitution, promised to voters under the last Labour manifesto. You are smart enough to know this revised treaty is nothing more than the constitution under another name.

Camerons living in a dream if he thinks he can order the other nations to give us back any rights already lost. He wont fare any better than Brown, Blair was cute and jumped ship. I dont have much time for any of them.
