An Increasingly Unstable Limbaugh Blames Obama for Ft. Hood Shootings

On his radio show today Rush Limbaugh blamed the Ft. Hood shooting where 13 soldiers were killed on President Obama. Limbaugh said, “We could almost say this is Obama’s fault, because this guy said that he believed Obama was going to get us out of Iraq and Afghanistan.”

So by your reasoning, someone who said "The way America treats people in the middle east, we can almost say it was America's fault that the World Trade Center was blown up" or on less political level, "The way that woman was dressed, we could almost say she was asking to be raped" and not be guilty of making a disgusting and untrue statement.

Defend Rush as much as you want, the comment he made was low even for him. There is absolutely no way in which the democrats, Obama or the armed forces had anything to do with this act of madness. To suggest otherwise is an out and out lie.

Status: offline 		I find it bizzare that people think Rush is just speaking off the cuff and these little bombs he drops aren't scripted to allow them to be parsed into 'no big deal' by his supporters when they try and defend him in public.

I didn't defend Rush, but that it seems typical of your posts that you would put words in my mouth and make it look like I am for rape. I am just surprised I wasn't accused of being racist also.

I never made any statement that you were in any way in favor of rape. Either you are completely misguided in your understanding or lying. Nor have I ever brought charges of racism into a conversation as a tactic. So that is another misunderstanding or lie on your part.

What I posted was simply to make the point that passing out blame incorrectly is done in many areas and it is always wrong. It also points out, as your reaction seems to indicate, that saying "one can almost say this" is pretty much the same as saying it, just in a way that the speaker can duck out from under. I used two other ridiculous arguments that have been heard in the past. I would suggest that you point out where I implied in any way that you said those things or believed in them. Otherwise, we can accept this as a mistake or conscious falsehood on your part and move on.


The title of this thread seems more than a bit accurate. Rush was passing blame to Obama, the media and the democrats. He just did so in a way that showed he is a coward as well as a fool.

Status: offline 		I find it intriguing that the major seems to have entered the us military in 2001 or not to many years prior, and that for the last 9 months (about Obamas taking over) he has been under investigation.

Once again, a clear failure incubated in the Bush administration.

Now if the Rush supporters had any interest in reason, fairness or logic, perhaps they could explain why "You could almost blame Obama" is any different from their unmistakable protest of the term "potentially racist". Not that I expect it. But it would be nice to hear.

And the person who said the "potentially racist" comment was a columnist. But I suppose only conservatives have the right to free speech around here. If you don't agree with them they try to take away your freedom of speech. (you know...I am fully aware that that is bullshit...but I can see why some posters do that all the time here...it's so much fun.)
