yes sunshinemiss, Im a Master. I started in the lifestyle in 1973. Some of the rules in the lifestyle today I probably helped get into the lifestyle.

Sorry, a little hijack. But :

[sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif]

I profoundly can't take anything seriously by this poster after that statement.

You're perfectly safe ... I haven't slept in 2 days (seriously), and I'm off to bed in a little while, where I confidently expect to sleep like the dead.

So long as it's like the dead I won't mind.

mnottertail -> RE: Jesus Camp (11/12/2009 3:10:21 PM)

well, are you saved?

LOL, no, you just keep reinforcing my original perception of you.

And what/where, pray, are these "rules" that you wonder if you helped instate in the "lifestyle"?
And while you're at it.... what, pray, is "the lifestyle"?

Jack,

I don't think that jesus is gonna save you on this one, hell hath no fury like a woman scorning you and all that from the apocolypse chapter in the new testament

Someone said earlier that it was a way to teach others how to live. For me this is correct and in the case of women..it's there for that exact reason as well.

The bible teaches women to be submissive and in these days as far as I'm concerned..It's deeply needed.

I was the one who said it and it was based on the general concepts of good will and treating others as you would have them treat you that are contained in the Bible.

Not the patriarchy that you have embraced from an ancient culture.

I always find claims like this to be hilarious. A straight guy from the 70's claims to have been around at the very beginning. Except of course the leather and old guard cultures, which really is where we derive what common culture we do have, got started in the 50's by gay men.

SL4V3M4YB3 -> RE: Jesus Camp (11/12/2009 3:46:06 PM)

Actually the Romans founded theee lifestyle when they crucified Jesus for sexual pleasure.

An since then it's all become a little bit too Mad Max Three (Beyond the thunder dome) where everyone keeps a record of the distorted history they think they know by doing the tell and membering and marking.

I've heard it suggested that the Marquis DeSade might have set a few precedents as well.

mmmmyeah it's usually an indication that the guy has oh about 6 months experience but because of his age is too embarrassed to admit it.

<sport commentator voiceover>

"And you join us here in the Olympic cycledrome, for one of the most eagerly awaited events of the entire Olympics ... the 400 metre backpedalling sprint ... just how fast can these trained athletes go when asked to switch suddenly from "full ahead" to "full reverse?"

Let's watch and see ... Jack's going for 4 point 5 degrees of obfuscation difficulty here ... he's reaching, really reaching ... it could be a new Olympic backpedalling record!

Oh dear, no. The judges have cried "BULLSHIT!", he's been red flagged, and his race is run ... a sad end, that, to a promising backpedal.

And now, a word from our sponsors ..."

I take the Bible at its face, not searching to see if it is true. If I did that what kind of faith would I have? As I understand it, faith is believing something you can not see or touch but only feel with your heart. Do you agree?

This is again something I don't understand.

Is this not a rather gullible position to take?

If I offered you an investment opportunity that seemed too good to be true would you accept it at face value?

If you answer yes, step into my office and we'll talk.

yeah, I am cursed with an intellectual starch blocker myself, although I have prayed in moments of weekness as a teenager hugging the porcelain and projectile vomiting technicolor yawns of sloegin or southern comfort.

Jesus!

Southern Comfort?

I would not wish that on anyone, but at least you survived.
