People post profiles to suit their needs, not yours. Mine has no photo, no checklists, no likes or dislikes. If someone posts a profile with little or no bdsm context that is their prerogative. Some people don't live and breathe kink 24/7 and the down time interests and activities are a lot more important to them. I can understand why you are confused about profile content since you are only 18 and just joined Friday but what makes these people fakes and posers just because their profiles don't suit your template?

OP,

I had a great reply all typed out for you but then I erased it.  Why?  Simple, it would be a waste of my time to try to get some 18 year old "master" to understand reality. Kink is great...bdsm is too...but the reality of it is not everyone is looking for the same things you are. 
If I choose to not list a bunch of kink in my profile, guess what...it's none of your concern.

OP--geez. It's a kink site. I simply assume that a submissive/slave girl is ....well, submissive and a slave. So that's covered.

Now, whether I'm interested in her as something other than a member of a gender that's half the members of this planet...that might read vanilla to you. To me, it's who is she.

When I was 18 I did know it all. I was better, brighter and better equipped than all you old fogies. Oh shit I just realized I am probably the old man here. Well my old folks were just hopeless antiques totally stunted by their ripe old age.
40 years down the road, and still waiting for that PhD. from Life’s University Of Hard Knocks to be mailed to me. My knowledge bank has certainly multiplied many times. But the more I gain of knowledge, the more acutely aware I become of how much knowledge really there is out there. It just really made me realize that if I became Mr. Know-it-all, I would really end up with an unending list of questions to be answered.
Another feature of getting to my age is the ability to look back and really see the mistakes I have made over the years. Like for example the notion I have had of always be right, like when thinking of my folks. Today they do stand out as someone who first of all had a great love for me, secondly really did have a point on many (probably most) occasions. It has taught me that when my fellow man disagrees it is not necessarily because he is stupid or wrong. He might just have another angle on the issue. It has also taught me that thinking before talking seems to minimize embarrassment. It has also taught me to enjoy what I have and stop crying over what I don’t. It has also taught me that the person whose respect I need the most is the one who looks at me in the mirror. If I lose respect for him I lose everything. Not that my peers means nothing, if it should happen their respect surely also gone.

I'm of an age that "cock-a-doodle doo, any sub'll doooo" is not my battle cry.
I troll for interesting conversation with my profile.  Some shared interests that may or may not be kink related.  I suppose if my profile were a flavor of ice cream, it would be vanilla.. with chocolate swirls and some nuts seasoned with chilis.

Not to hijack the topic or anything, but ... what is it that makes people think a profile is fake?  I have got to get a handle on it.  I just took all the truth out of my profile because I get so few responses ... perhaps because so many think my profile is fake ... I thought taking the creation of my profile seriously and being "me" would give interested/interesting people a foundation for discourse.  Unfortunately, it has not worked out that way at all for me.  SL

Serious answer?  Because most people aren't just looking for kinky play, they're looking for friends, lovers, life partners.  You can't base a serious relationship off kink, any more than you can base one off of sex.  Relationships based on sexual chemistry don't last in the long in my experience, and I've seen nothing to suggest that this changes because she wants to be spanked or you have a bit of a thing for gags. 

Kink is important to you, obviously, and it's probably important to most of these people too, otherwise they wouldn't be looking for mates on a BDSM website.  However, I suspect that it's probably harder to find real mental and emotional compatibility than it is to find someone whose kinks line up with yours - and if you find that someone whom you're emotionally compatible with, a lot of the kink stuff can be compromised on.  Let's say that you're a dom and she's a sub.  If you love her and care for her and she absolutely needs to be tied up every now and then, how hard is it to learn some knots? 

K13, you're 18.  You're still learning who you are and what you like.  In ten years, if you're lucky, you'll still be learning and growing.  Who would you rather explore with?  Some girl that you don't really like who has the same kinky interests as you, or or a woman that you adore who let you do things out of your wildest fantasies because she adores you too?
