aphotic -> RE: What is it with the fakes and posers? (11/17/2009 12:58:27 AM)

I think--according to the OP--that I may in fact be a fake. I did mention if my partner and I were to get completely wild (with no inhibitions) and drunk that we might have girl on top sex. That's totally submissive, right?

What's the point in selling yourself as a submissive to everyone if you're looking for more than just a Top/Domme/Dom/circus midget/bearded lady anyway?

Thanks OP, now I have to spend countless hours staring at my profile and looking up recipes so I can lie about how I'm a great cook, have great abs, and will do the dishes. I certainly hope you're happy with yourself > <

P.S. Why don't you start a thread about how having Mel Brooks' quotes in your profile is a bad idea and just totally derail my approach.

Llyren -> RE: What is it with the fakes and posers? (11/17/2009 1:04:09 AM)

Well, having Mel Brooks quotes in your profile =is= a bad idea.  Unless of course the film in question involves Madeline Kahn or Rick Moranis.   I'm not sure Men in Tights really had more than one good quote.  "And unlike other Robin Hoods, I can speak with an English accent."

Now you've got me thinking of all the movie quotes I love, and of how it would bloat my profile hideously were I to add them all.  I swear by my pretty floral bonnet, I'll leave you with just this.

"if you'd prefer a lecture, I've a few very catchy ones prepped...sin and hellfire... one has lepers."

This is actually proof you aren't really a fake because if you were you wouldn't put such effort into it you would just lie about being experienced in those things.

quotes from Spaceballs are always good....

kiwisub12 -> RE: What is it with the fakes and posers? (11/17/2009 6:03:41 PM)

and which Robin Hood movie had the evil Sheriff of Nottingham said something along the lines of " and by the way, cancel Christmas!"

Llyren -> RE: What is it with the fakes and posers? (11/17/2009 6:08:05 PM)

That was Costner's version, which Mel was making fun of in Men in Tights.  But wow, Alan Rickman was fantastic.

I must admit I have a weakness for the tall, dark, and evil types.

Did someone say Alan Rickman?

He was also poking fun at the older versions. Costner's never had the archery contest after all. :-)

Llyren -> RE: What is it with the fakes and posers? (11/17/2009 6:24:21 PM)

True, but the archery contest was canon.  The bit with having an English accent was an absolute jab at Costner, and probably less of one towards Flynn, who was Tasmanian, as I recall.

But this thread, and a few others, has me thinking.  And not in a good way, about my own submission, and whether it really is my fault that I can't find anyone who can handle me.  Argh.  Enough with the whinging.  Time to watch "History of the World, Part I"

It's canon in that it's a commonly told part of the story. I dunno if any of Robin Hood can really be "canon" but that's cause I go back and forth on if he's a complete work of fiction or was ever a real man. The whole "throw a pig on the table" was definately pulled from Flynn's movies. I love both movies, Thieves and Tights and didn't see anything as a "jab" honestly. The whole Marian singing thing was a nod to the Disney version (I think anyway) where there are so many songs and Marian and Clucky are getting her ready in private.

Llyren -> RE: What is it with the fakes and posers? (11/17/2009 6:35:27 PM)

I guess I view 'canon' as part of the regularly told tales.  You really can tell he did some research into the films, or at least watched a lot of them.  I think there may even have been a reference or two in the direction of the old Showtime series, "Robin of Sherwood".

AquaticSub -> RE: What is it with the fakes and posers? (11/17/2009 9:59:02 PM)

One of these days I need to watch that.

GreedyTop -> RE: What is it with the fakes and posers? (11/17/2009 10:02:29 PM)

actually, I just went to my stack of DVDs, and cant decide between that, Blazing Saddles, or Monty Python's Meaning of life...

Llyren -> RE: What is it with the fakes and posers? (11/17/2009 10:06:02 PM)

I vote we do a virtual movie night.  We all watch the same film, and comment on it here.  I just realized I have over 200 dvds, and I only watch about 2 dozen regularly.

AquaticSub -> RE: What is it with the fakes and posers? (11/17/2009 10:07:51 PM)

I am so in favor of this. We could set up a chat room or something.

GreedyTop -> RE: What is it with the fakes and posers? (11/17/2009 10:57:54 PM)

that could be fun! (except I have a very limited movie collection... unless you count the umpteen porn VHS and DVDs I still have from my aborted attempt at sales)

Well... there is always blockbuster... or you could come visit me and we'll share the popcorn. [:D]

Llyren -> RE: What is it with the fakes and posers? (11/17/2009 11:25:10 PM)

I have enough dvds that I bet we could find something.  We're all geeky, after all.

AquaticSub -> RE: What is it with the fakes and posers? (11/17/2009 11:27:50 PM)

Damn straight and I just got Superman: Doomsday. [:D]
