ORIGINAL: Llyren True, but the archery contest was canon. The bit with having an English accent was an absolute jab at Costner, and probably less of one towards Flynn, who was Tasmanian, as I recall. But this thread, and a few others, has me thinking. And not in a good way, about my own submission, and whether it really is my fault that I can't find anyone who can handle me. Argh. Enough with the whinging. Time to watch "History of the World, Part I" It's canon in that it's a commonly told part of the story. I dunno if any of Robin Hood can really be "canon" but that's cause I go back and forth on if he's a complete work of fiction or was ever a real man. The whole "throw a pig on the table" was definately pulled from Flynn's movies. I love both movies, Thieves and Tights and didn't see anything as a "jab" honestly. The whole Marian singing thing was a nod to the Disney version (I think anyway) where there are so many songs and Marian and Clucky are getting her ready in private.
