Hi all, Lots of guessing and quarterbacking about who's running in 2012 and their chances. A worthy discussion. Have at it! What are your picks?

Now, most people don't like socialized medicine especially myself, but if we only cover legal citizens, and find a way to make everyone pay into it, then I'm fine with it myself. What I dislike about socialist policies is that it enables people to go out and buy a new car while taxpayers pay for their living expenses. That's just not right. I think he could defeat both Palin and Obama handily. Spread the news. A liberal is someone who feels a great debt to his fellow man, which debt he proposes to pay off with your money. - G. And at least he had some brief experience in the Senate.

I'd vote for Lou Dobbs, he's be great for the country! Of course all the pols in D.C. who are on the graft wagon won't like him! He was on the business channel last night with Larry Kudlow and said he'd run as an "Independant!" That's what we need, a breath of fresh air and repudiation of the Dems and Repubs and all their fucking stealing!

This has been my problem with them, from Ralph Nader to Ross Perot. I'd love to see a field of unaffiliated candidates, candidates seriously running instead of posturing.

Frankly I don't see the country lasting to 2012. Not in its current form. This financial collapse is just starting- we have not seen the full effects of it yet. When people have no livelihood everything changes.

Dobbs might run for Senate in New Jersey but POTUS? Get serious. He would never have a chance and is smart enough to know that. I don't see anyone serious opposing Obama in teh Democratic primaries. The GOP primaries look to be wide open. People who have been doing teh various things candidates do at this point: Gingrich Huckabee Jindal Palin Pawlenty Romney Santorum I honestly don't see anyone in that field who could win the GOP nomination and who wouldn't be a disaster as POTUS.

A good candidate for the Republicans actually would be Lindsey Graham but he probably doesn't think he's ready for it. He would be a good candidate because he is a real conservative but not crazy as he has had problems with the Teabagers. Strangely it is the outlier consitsently showing the President to have a lower approval rating than every other poll. Couldn't possibly be any bias in their sample or questions could there? Lou Dobbs probably considers running for a seat in US Congress. He is smart man; it is not time (yet) for an Independent president. He may also try to initiate and lead a new movement (party). There is a serious need for the last.

If they are consistently below "every other poll", a claim also often made (possibly by you even) about Rasmussen, then I suggest you examine any liberal biases in other polls.
