Actually, the 60% I referred to in my post was Palin's "unfit to be President" numbers; by anyone's polling, she has disastrously high unfavorable ratings; I wastched Chris Matthews ask Governor Haley Barbour of Mississippi if "Palin is qualified to be President"; he stammered, hedged, and finally said "Constitutionally she is..." (The Constitution allows any natural born citizen who is over 35 to be President) Meaning he could not bring himself to say outright she was fit to be President. Can you imagine a former GOP chairman saying the same about Reagan in 1979? Not a good sign for that woman, or the party that she might be leading.

Absolutely agreed. The party defended Palin simply because she was the pick. It was a desperate, shoot from the hip attempt to shore up McCain's campaign, and was never properly vetted. They can't seriously continue to back her and retain credibility.

I see, so now its no longer "Fox has consistently lower numbers than anyone", its "Fox and Rasmussen both have consistently lower numbers than anyone else". Its hard to kick field goals when the goalposts are moving. And of course this still does not address where any bias that does exist might be found...in Fox/Rasmussen or in the polls that show higher numbers.

So let me get this straight, a dozen or more well respected polling organizations numbers are biased because they don't track with the two that show a clear tilt toward your political POV. Unless you have some evidence to back that up I'll continue using my knowledge of statistics to say that when a group of numbers cluster except for a small group of consistent outliers it is the outliers that should be examined.

With your great knowledge of statistics then, you might look at comparisons not with "a dozen or more" polling organizations, but those that poll the same groups. The "lack of tracking" that you claim is almost entirely due to the differences between All, Registered and Likely Voters. When grouped that way the differences are not statistically significant. Then when you throw the obviously biased polls out (eg NY/CBS are notorious for overweighting Democrats in their polls and not adjusting for it), youre left with nothing.

President Obama's first undeniable achievement was seriouly lowering the bar on who can become President of these United States. His resume was basically blank. No accomplishments. No executive experience. Oratorically gifted. He was a national nobody until the '04 DNC, and then he went on to the White House. It could happen again. One viral video could launch a political star. (The Dems will do everything can to shoot those down of course, but they just can't keep their deep, inner ugliness hidden when they do that, and wind up hurting themselves anyway). Personally, I want to see Rudy Giuliani back on these lists.

Perhaps you should add a "hijacking acceptable" note to your instructions for the thread? I saw the genesis as well. I stand by my comment about your thread title.
