Apparently TIger Woods is in serious [not critical] condition and with facial wounds after a single car motor crash at 2:25 am. Woods was alone at the time.
Alcohol said not to be a factor. With 'facial wounds', here's hoping he's not too rich or too dumb to not have been wearing a life-saving seatbelt to a post-Thanksgiving booty call.

The highway patrol says the crash is still under investigation...though they deny its an alcohol -related incident.....they say charges could still be pending.
Curious, what charges could still be pending?

I smell speeding: hitting a fire hydrant, then a tree in something as solid as a Cadillac sounds like a sports star oozing with the feeling of being entitled to speed in the dark.
And with facial injuries, probably no seatbelt, and under the influence of drugs is always a possibility.

However, if he was wearing his seatbelt and hit a muledeer which smashed his windscreen into his face on his way to a charity golf tourney, I'll happily eat my words. But I'm betting he was sneaking out of his house for a bootycall!

Could be Tantriqu, but the story I read had this accident happening while backing out of his driveway....now I'm sure this isn't a driveway like you and I have in front of out houses(a good sight longer I would think)....speeding backing out of the drive?
As I said curious.

How presumptuous of you.

Not only that, but your facts are wrong. It was called a 'minor' accident and he was treated and released in 'good condition.'

It was clarified in an article that any time someone is transported from the scene to a hospital, the injuries are automatically classified as "serious".
He was treated and released.
They have determined that he was driving slowly enough so that the airbags would not deploy.
If a branch broke the windshield, that would explain the facial lacerations.

I can think of a lot of innocuous reasons why he might be going out at that time of night:
Sick wife or baby or even a run to get chocolate or ice cream... or bread to make turkey sandwiches with.

Good grief... can we say - drama much?
He got some facial cuts and hit a tree and hydrant (have you ever seen one of those blow?) backing out of a drive.  There was no alchohol involved allegedly and the airbags didn't deploy which mean he couldn't have been going very fast, unless they were faulty.

Are you planning to be a media journo or something?  I am sure Murdock would approve of your reporting skills.

A new Cadillac SUV is going to be equipped with OnStar.

So that told GM that the vehicle had been in an accident as soon as it happened.
Also, there was instant radio communication possible between
GM and the car at that time.  So they could have called the ambulance.

Certainly the cost of an ambulance ride and a hospital visit
would not have deterred him from going, or even crossed his mind.

I have not read about it just throwing this into the mix here.

Agreed. Good grief. And in the middle of the night.

The AP story:

Tiger Woods was injured in a car accident early Friday when his car struck a tree near his mansion in a gated waterfront community, authorities said.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the 33-year-old PGA star hit the hydrant and a tree after pulling out of his driveway in his 2009 Cadillac sports utility vehicle.

The patrol reported Woods' injuries as serious, though Woods spokesman Glenn Greenspan said the golfer was treated at a hospital and released in good condition.

The patrol said alcohol was not involved, though the accident remains under investigation and charges could be filed. No one else was in the car, patrol spokeswoman Kim Montes said.

Woods' $2.4 million home is part of the exclusive Isleworth subdivision near Orlando, a community set on an Arnold Palmer-designed golf course and a chain of small lakes. The neighborhood, which is fortified with high brick walls and has its own security force, is home to CEOs and other sports stars such as the NBA's Shaquille O'Neal.

The accident happened at 2:25 a.m., though the FHP did not release the accident report until nearly 12 hours later.

Gary Bruhn, mayor of the adjacent community of Windermere, said police from that village were among the first on the accident scene and saw Woods with cuts on his face. Montes said troopers consider the injuries serious if they require more than minor medical attention.

Lol, note the 'apparently' disclaimer in the OP. A new apparently is that it happened after a 'domestic issue' but not abuse, so I'm still calling facial lacerations from 'no seatbelt'.
Looking forward to the Smoking Gun's account.

"Apprently" is not a disclaimer. The very definition of the word suggests you alone know what happened (which you could not, as you weren't there).

Apparently -- Plainly; clearly; manifestly; evidently.

Therefore, you are simply wrong. You are further wrong to even suggest it was after a "post-Thanksgiving booty call." But I understand, many "commoners" love to tear down celebrities. It's why that garbage show tmz is on the air.

Luckily there are still some people who don't give a rat's ass about a celebrity's personal life.

I had an accident and broke some bones in my face. There was no alcohol involved. It was an unfortunate freak accident.

Thank God he didn't have a hangnail, too. We'd have had to fly all of our flags at half staff. I cannot believe this was all over the news. Considering the shit we find newsworthy in this country it's no wonder the rest of the world guffaws at us.

The gossip site TMZ.com reported last night that Woods and his wife got into a marital spat that sent Tiger tearing out of the driveway in Windermere, Fla., slamming into a hydrant and tree at about 2:25 a.m. Florida police called it “a domestic issue,”

Maybe he got tired of the blandness of white meat and pumpkin pie and wanted the spice of dark meat and sweet potato.

Here in Canada it was "mysterious bizarre accident" and then a "stay tuned as we bring you every minor rumour and blow it out of proportion" kind of story
oh and that the airbags didnt deploy, which was probably the only fact in the whole report
Sheesh
kinda like that boy in a balloon thing the other week
