ShaharThorne -> RE: December Roll Call (12/6/2009 12:40:21 PM)

I am a busy woman this month. Will be in Austin during Xmas week, bone density test on the 17th, a mammogram on the 29th, a consult with an oral dentist on the 14th (I am going to his office in the morning and raise unholy hell about the delay to extract my molar. I can't eat or drink anything because it hurts like crazy...I rather be in labor!) I am waiting for the rest of my backpay from Social Security so I can reserve a cabin for my mother and I to cruise in the inner passage in Alsaka(?) (after I buy a dictionary).

I wanted to wait to add My two cents for the month until the news was official.  I am a Grand a second time over.  Maddyline Marybeth came into the world today at 6 lbs and 5 ozs.  She is a beautiful little thing.  Anyone who doesn't believe in love at first sight never had a grandchild.

I have to agree with you Lady Pact, in fact I enjoy grandmothering more than parenting...I have 3 grandchildren with a potential new one next year...I am indeed blessed with cuddles, kisses and "I love you so much grandma..like all the sand in the sea, from one and 'all the stars in the sky from the other"

I also appreciate birthday wishes from MoGa.... I have been 49 for 12 minutes now...lol

I agree, being a grandmother is FAAAAAAAAAABULOUS! Next spring I will welcome my 4th into the world. It is a wonderful thing.

Congratulations LadyPact!!!!!

And Kevin, I was 41 when my first was born. I've known several women that were in their 30's when they became grandmothers.

I was 36 when my first grandchild was born...I was 16 when my daughter was born. It still gets me the 'you look too young to be a grandmother!!!' lol I love it and am a groovy granny [sm=line.gif]

Well, so far this month, I've helped pack up and move the correctional facility where I work, I've turned 32, we've met a new boy (who is coming back over New Year's *yay*), we've sold another puppy, and various other random things have happened. Those are the big ones, though.

Just wanted to say hi to Miss Karen and say Happy Belated Bday!

Fingers crossed on your having found your potential "male wife" to refer to an old thread.

SthrnCom4t -> RE: December Roll Call (12/25/2009 3:26:23 PM)

Typically, I am just now reading this thread started over 3 weeks ago. I know its my own fault, creating the roller-coaster, but we just seem to get sucked in every time!
The first weekend in Dec Otter had a long Saturday at his shop, followed by an hour drive down to Denver for a party. Snow kicked up, so instead of going to Georgetown Xmas mart, we stayed snowed in and worked around the house. A full work week, followed by a full weekend hosting a houseful of kinky friends. (Awesome time!) I'd never appreciated cesaer salad tableside until we made Otter interject a strip-tease with the salad making. (Silly boy, what did he think would happen as the center of attention with a table full of kinkies?)

Another full week of work and plans to stay home when we weren't at Otter's shop. (He decided to work the last 10 days leading up to Xmas to wring every last drop of holiday business possible). Staying home was just that; a plan. Instead I got last minute tickets to a hockey game, and then hosted friends overnight after closing the shop on Saturday. Sunday morning was our local munch, before dashing back off to the shop. Not to stay home yet, we then went to friends' house for dinner.

I had a few days off this past week, so again it was off to Otter's shop where we had a fabulous bonding time creating a shadowbox for one of his favorite customers. Her reaction was all that we'd hoped, as well as pleasing some last minute shoppers with customized gifts. Guy shopping energy is the best. Look, point, pay, walk out with gift. From the retail side, guy customers ROCK!

And in the spare time between all of the above, I sewed Otter a beautiful lamb leather collar. Pink on the inside for him, black on the outside for me. Symbolic and comfortable, we'll still use the more functional collar for playtime. It looks wonderful on him and makes me smile just as much as the shadowbox he made me, preserving 'the FIRST rose'... :) He's so wonderfully romantic!

I worked today and will do so again tomorrow. The beeper is in my pocket, so I'm earning a little $ to be on the electronic leash. After 3:30pm on Saturday, I'm coming home and not answering the phone. I can 'just say NO' to social invitations....REALLY, I can!

4 days of work next week, then 5 glorious days of freedom. Otter's store will be closed, and after our local kinky New Year's Eve party, we're headed to western Colorado to get out of town.

Work, work, PLAY HARD, work, work....we are so blessed to have such fabulous people in our lives!

Happy Holidays everyone....start thinking about 2010 now, projecting INTENT to make it all that you want it to be!

Thanks, Ms Jo - we're hoping that he'll be the final member to our family. Not sure quite yet when he'll be arriving, but since I'm off work the 30th, 31st, and 1st, and one of us will be home all day the 2nd and 3rd, we're hoping it will be an extended visit to help us see how well he fits in [:)]

MaamJay -> RE: December Roll Call (12/25/2009 10:11:19 PM)

Congrats to LadyP and Sweet Dommes on the new additions!

I'm REALLY late with this roll call, it'll be January soon! In summary -
1. In Nov we held a 21st bday party for My cat ... I made her a very fetching party hat and she ate miniature sandwiches and cocktail frankfurters and had a wonderful time. She didn't mind being bound into her chair either! Today (Boxing Day) is 21 years to the day since I got her. She's the only member of the household not on meds!
2. Master and I decided to have a little "holiday" from work and do some intensive touring of the northern rivers region of NSW. Absolutely beautiful country, highlight of which was standing on a piece of rock that projected 500 metres from the rim of an ancient volcano, at a height of 900 metres and seeing the whole of the bowl of the volcano below. Awesome! Some of the waterfalls in the area were lovely too, and the beaches of course. Plus the local history. Took zillions of photos so will have a lot of scrapbooking to do!
3. On the downside, we then had another problem with the air brake system and got stranded for 2 weeks in the same town we got stranded in for 6 weeks in June/July! Argh! But at least the caravan park had a pool and this time it was hot enough (being summer) to use it! Managed to get all My rubber stamps out and made all My Xmas cards.
4. On the upside, just got it fixed in time to get back to where we wanted to spend Christmas on Dec 23rd. Phew! Had a lovely vanilla day with a good friend and way too much good food!
5. Immediate future includes some more work on My PhD (first draft of chapter 1 and annual report by mid-Jan), some more paid academic work too and did I mention scrapbooking? And still looking for a subby boy, didn't get to catch up with any on that little outing (though we did have dinner with the subby girl I trialled 2 years ago, still friends). I am still talking with an overseas man who may have the wherewithalls to visit later this year.

Happy New Year everyone (getting in early!)

SweetDommes -> RE: December Roll Call (12/26/2009 2:13:05 PM)

Jay, I'm really thinking that maybe you should avoid that town in the future LOL

MaamJay -> RE: December Roll Call (12/27/2009 10:24:16 PM)

LOL don't worry, we will be trying to avoid it, and a 50km radius around it in fact! Unfortunately it's on the main highway north-south so rather tricky to avoid, without taking a major detour across a mountain range (twice as the range runs all the way up the country) and using a very bumpy inland route. That's what we did on the way DOWN to the holiday and we had no problems with the car, just the contents of the van! However, in future it could be that having the entire contents of our cupboards jumbled by the bumps is preferable to the hoodoo around that town!

Hope your new boy works out well and that your puppy found a good home too!

Whoot! Can't wait for a positive update in the future. I know this is something that has been discussed for years! Fingers crossed!
