No, the stories depressed her, and she threw herself down the stairs. It made all the papers, I am surprised you didn't hear of it.

I realized tossing myself down the stairs was not the answer sob Well...the tossing part wasn't all that bad...it was the landing that sucked.

A bright spot...my left ear was always nearly a half inch higher than the right ear (no one has perfectly even ears). I could have my eye glasses fitted, but sunglasses drove me nuts (always were at an angle, making me look like a total doofus). When i say the plastics guy last week he tsktsk'd and said he was afraid the left ear was now a half inch lower than it was. He thought i would be upset...i was thrilled!! All i want to do is wear the sunglasses that now FIT and no longer have me looking like a Potsie...er...a doof. I can't wear them yet cause they hurt, but damnit...they fit!!!!!!! every cloud has a silver lining[:)]

He is up to 42 pounds and is having difficulty breathing. We have tried everything. At first it was thought to be his thyroid, so he was tested several times. His thyroid is fine. He has been examined by everyone who we thought could help. The last we heard the problem was the pituitary gland. I refuse to put the poor baby through brain surgery. We have tried different foods to reduce his weight...but he keeps gaining. One of the problems is he is the most neurotic cat i have ever seen and doing anything with him makes me fear a heart attack.

Today, after the doctor's appointment, I am going to shop for some vital stuff to made my version of trail mix. M&Ms, unsalted nuts, raisins. Gallon freezer bag and I am set for the bus station tomorrow morning. I know that chocolate is suppose to be bad for you, but I need the sweetness. At least I am not attacking king sized 3 musketeers bars

Just be glad I did not raid the Raisinettes. I am having salad tonight! I am almost out of Special K...and bananas...and Bo feeding me vegetables like brocchile, baby spinach salad, brussel sprouts...and mashed califlower instead of mashed potatoes. Oh..I hope he will have some fresh green beans while I am there.

Made up the trail mix...1 part M&Ms(medium bag), 2 parts raisins and 2 parts pecans. got it ready in the gallon bag. Its better than getting cheese danishes and chocolate muffins... Speaking of which..I got to find that receipe book so I can remember how to make the muffins.

In becoming a non smoker 41 days ago I am starting to gain weight. Im trying to stick with fruits & veggies while driving which is tough. I'm full & still keep eating. Help & suggestions needed PLEASE

When I quit smoking I would acknowledge that what I was feeling was a craving for a cigarette, not something to eat. I also drank a lot more water. I was a truckdriver at the time. It's very hard to quit smoking while driving, believe me!! But I did it & I didn't gain weight. Feel free to PM me if you'd like.

It is an oral fixation. I smoked over 20 years ago and I am glad I gave it up. You just want something in your mouth. Happens to the best of us. Food because the substitution for the cigarette studies show that weight gain happens in patients when they quit smoking. Try chewing gum. Nothing distracts me better than a hunk a bubble gum, blowing up bubbles. A former sub was a dipper until we convinced him/her that is was unladylike to doing snuff. Now s/he has a smoking habit. I just get bites of ice cream to make me glad that I quit smoking...cigarettes as very expensive in Texas anyway.

Shahar, actually, you should look at the calories and fat and sugar and the major sodium due to the pecans and raisins, you will be eating compared to the cheese danish and chocolate muffin. You may find that eating the bag of your trail mix and how much you will actually graze on may actually be less beneficial to eat than eating a cheese danish and a chocolate muffin over the course of the same amount of hours? You would be better i think putting like multigrain cheerios instead of 2 parts raisins and cutting down on the m&ms and even the pecans. angel angel
