We know your struggles with the meds, have you stopped gaining weight since the doc took you off them?

What have you been doing to try and jump start losing the 30 lbs you gained?   Have you been able to kick the pop addiction yet?  I know i haven't -- ugh.  Are you back at curves?

You said you were going to look into South beach, have you been able too yet?

Hi hi.

A funny thing happened over at the gym.

I'm doing my thing (elliptical after 10 minute warm up on the bike) and this big muscular guy comes over and tells me ..."come... take test...free"... well heck I didn't know there was a test involved! He did my measurements somehow with these whacky machines. (conversion height is 157.8 cm in case you care). This machine, that machine. And he prints it out (bp and resp are perfect btw). He looks at the numbers and looks at me. They get this look on their faces here when they just aren't sure how to say what they need to say. Well after back and forth it turns out that all my muscle numbers are above average - basically my muscles are stronger than the average woman. I asked if that was the average Asian woman or average non-Asian woman (I mean ... seriously. A size 6 is large here. My wrist is bigger than the thighs on a lot of these gals. No, I am not exaggerating.) Non-Asian woman he tells me. Then he looks at my weight and BMI and gets that look again. I tell him "hypothyroidism"... ahhhh... He points to his neck and understands. Yay! He understands. Then he says "Just a moment" He brings over his cell phone - they all have Korean-English dictionaries in them. He pulls up something in Korean and translates it into English.

What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the Master calls a butterfly.

As I left for the night he yells out "see you tomorrow."

I smiled. Yep. See you tomorrow.

After a VERY lazy day yesterday I went to the track last night & only did 5 miles in 62 minutes[&o] Shouldn't have had the pancakes & then laid about[&o].

It's a new day & this AM I had my usual coffee & whole wheat bagel (I never put anything on my bagels) then after I was ready for work I had Blueberry Pomegrante cereal w/skim milk.

I brought egg white/shredded mozarella cheese with me for this afternoon.

Tho quite honestly some of the posts you make do kill my appetite so maybe this is the place for them! [:'(]..........(not)

The exercise bike is back outdoors. It keeps falling apart and was not helping out.

When Mom gets healther, we are hitting Curves again (pneumonia). This time I will 3 curcirts(?). I am down to a half can of Diet MD. I am still expermenting with the trail mix. still walking and I misplaced thde pedometer AGAIN!

Going to Dallas on the 4th for Akon, an anime convention. The hotel has a fitness center and pool that I will use. After the con, I head for Austin to invoke a tornado to clean up Lizard's room. I will get the BF's mom for some assistance (making him do some of the work). While in Austin, I will get to walk on the track at Lizard's school 2 times a day when I find the pedometer (it was under a pile of papers in the file cabinet).

Last night I ran/walked a mile at the track in 10minutes. I ran/walked home (approx 1.5 miles) It was so hot out last night I literally peeled off my top.
I have to start drinking more water during the day prior to my run or be at the track by 5:30am when it's cooler out.
Because I couldn't eat during the day yesterday I ate an hour before I left for the track.....[:'(]

Today I made brown rice this AM & brought along a can of French Style green beans.

I also brought a bowl so I could eat my damn egg whites w/shredded cheese that I brought yesterday but couldn't find a bowl to save my life hence my inability to eat during the day yesterday.

I am reading "Diabetes Solution' right now, which goes into a diet for diabets (sorry can't spell this morning), elminating certain carbs, add more protein and the avoidance of sugar unless you are having an diabitic shock or coma.. He teaches (he has Type I) and what he is teachs is finally showing up in the routine okayed by the ADA. I believe that the South Beach follows the same diet routine, just more exotic fruits.

Last night I ran for the 1st time w/an "official" running club that I joined yesterday.
We ran 3 miles around the track (12 laps) & beforehand we "warmed up" by running thru the campus (uphill & flat land).
I walked after running about 3/4 of the way so not too, too bad.
On the track the 1st 2 miles were relatively easy but the 3rd one kicked my butt. I walked a couple of steps to catch my breath & cool down (it was unbearably hot) but I finished running. I didn't do any of the full laps walking so I'm pretty proud of myself <pats self on back>. Of course when I got home I was not hungry at all, I just wanted to rehydrate, rehydrate...did I mention REHYDRATE???? lol

As of my weigh-in on Tuesday, I have lost 3.6 pounds.  I confess, it could have been more, but I've been blowing off my exercise routine lately.  Still, that's roughly a pound a week, so I'm satisfied.

Yayyyy Sylvere! Great job!

I was checking out the "Road Runner's" website & noticed that they had a goup of folks called the "Back of the Pack"  who run an 11-13 minute mile. They get together 3 x's a week & 2 of those days are at 5:15am so I signed up. I'll be out there tomorrow morning jogging in the pre-dawn light. Yayyyy, no sun![;)]

I did a 13-mile loop today. Damn my legs are tired!!!![8D]
I got home just ahead of a nice t-storm & had a long shower......ahhhhh!

Did not work out...was chasing Lizard at the anime convention about most of the time.  I did get in some stair climbing a couple of times.  Had a nervous breakdown when I sent her to check out a Chinese restaurant and she did not return (she was doing a cosplay without informing me) for over 2 hours.  I did get some crocheting in on a project.  Saw a lot of neat costuming.  Thinking of doing again next year, this time staying 3 nights.

She did bring her BF (I paid for his tickets on the train and bus as a birthday present, on the 12th, same as mine...*giggles*).and we had to share a king bed, me sleeping on top of the blankets, the kids snuggling each other.  She did bring her computer and we were able to get free by having the minibook with the other computers paid for network.  He was able to play WoW when she was running around.  She got exhausted both nights and did not have any party time.

I plan on doing this route thru June then in July do 20miles. I'll do that thru Aug gradually increasing my pace so that on Marathon day I can get to the 20 mile mark w/time to spare & finish the race[:D]
