pleased with Obama and his doings?
 
Are we going to keep him in office, or is it back
to Re-pub-li-can?
 
What is wrong with the Libetarian party?
 
Re-pub li- can or Dem-a-crat, they have both caused enough damage!
 
Besides, how much of the human vote counts?

Brain, there's what, 300 million people in this country and you come up with this guy? None of the Kennedy's is famous for having an abundance of "gray matter" you know.
Haven't we had enough of the Kennedys to satiate anyone?

Just vote for me. I will bring my own people in for bodygaurds, and I will start some shit. I will cut all foreign aid in half, and sorry kit, that includes Isreal. Fukum. Ask someone who has money, we do not.

Next, government entitlements are gone. No elected officaial will ever collect a pension again, except if they get some SS or SSI. That is gone the first day by executive order. Other things wil be accomplished the normal way.

You think I am kidding ? Give it a crack. I have some people I can trust completely and they will be between me and the secret service. I will not have them scheduling me, I and I alone will decide where I will be at any given time. I will have factions of the CIA, the Mossad and who the fuck knows who else after me. They will want to make an example out of me, but if I know how to use the pwoer correctly, they will not touch me.

You think I am fucking kidding, try me. You'll get change and you are not going to like it, but it wil be what we must do to save ourselves from third world status. There will be violations or modifications to treaties, NAFTA will br gone, all free trade agreements will be null and void, by executive order. MY order. From there we can work to build a fair trade system. But not one second sooner.

You think I am kidding, or talking out my ass, but some know that I am not. I am willing to risk my life, if the possible gains are great enough, for this country, my non-existant progeny and all. To be free of the fear of death is a wonderful thing, really. It is a type of freedom reserved for the select few, so to speak.

Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country. I didn't notice the word government in there.

Unless he does something REALLY stupid. The recent speech of his at the citadel comes close to doing something really stupid. The republicans do not have a credible canidate to field. The ones they do have, are so lame, they should be retired and forgotten.

The problem I see with any election, comes down to money. Unless you have several million dollars to blow on an election campaign for representative, senator, or even as president (in which case you need tens of millions), dont bother. While the guy/gal with the most money doesn't always win, it sure does help, heighten the odds of success.

One way, would be for Americans to support a bill, that gives a voucher of sorts, for 13 minutes of air time on radio or TV. Basically, the US goverment pays a set dollar amount, and the radio/TV station carries a 30 second ad for the canidate. The canidate, would need to have collected some level of credibility of awareness by the citizenry. Either by word of mouth, or, in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts here, a percentage of signatures from registered voters.

Does it solve the problem regarding the quality of canidates? No. But, it is a step in the right direction.

It will take more things like this, from the citizenry, to make getting in to elected office much more likely. After all, the senate seat gives $174K/year with benefits. Most, if not all, the people currently in these seats, collect it as pocket change. To the majority of Americans, getting a salary of $174K/year, particularly in this economy, would be a miracle. US citizens do not want to get off their butts, to force better goverment. Those in Congress have alot to lose, if Americans wanted them to do more work and get things done sooner.

Status: offline 		It seems the president is usually no more than a scapegoat...our government system was designed to keep any one branch from having too much power, at the expense of not letting any one branch (including the executive; the presidential cabinet figureheaded by the commander-in-chief) make much of a difference independently without coordinated effort from other branches. We did not elect change incarnate, and we won't no matter who's on the ballot - President or no, they're only human (unless we elect an extraterrestrial, an animal, or an inanimate object - provided they're 35+ years of age and were born in the USA, and there are no guarantees).
That said, with all the requisite media coverage devoted to the President, we may as well have some eye candy to perv on while they try to read a teleprompter convincingly - and I can't imagine voting for anyone with a G.O.Piece of shit agenda, I don't care how pretty they are....

Status: offline 		Why would it have to be a Republican to send President Obama back home to Chicago in 2012?  If his popularity keeps dropping, and he keeps tossing his base under every bus that comes along, he could easily face a serious challenge from within his own party for the nomination.

If history is any guide, people we've barely heard of could be major players two years from now.

Not to mention that early front-runners draw all the fire. Lots of players will change before 2012.

The situation in the country will change as well--whether because of anyone's actions or not. Things happen.

Are you kidding me? Did you hear what the man had to say? Did you listen carefully? Why did they applaud spontaneously after he finished speaking? How about, as John McEnroe would say, '' you can't be serious!''

Did you ever hear Bush make a speech like that? Did you ever hear Bush, or any other president provide you with such historical context and factual information? Sure Obama came close when he delivered that keynote speech for John Kerry, when Kerry was nominated to lead the Democratic Party. You remember that one don't you? “There is not a white America and there is not a black America! There is the United States of America!” Obama came close but that was not, in my opinion, as good as Robert Kennedy Junior.

One other guy I like very much is Mario Cuomo, the former governor of the great state of New York. I remember when he said during that keynote speech of his, which David Brinkley said right after it was over that night on ABC news, “ I think it's the best I've ever heard.” I remember Mario Cuomo saying, “The United States is not a shining city on a hill but a tale of two cities; ” in reply to Ronald Reagan's speech. I remember Cuomo asking Reagan if he talked to the unemployed steel workers in Lackawanna, or if he talked to the single mother in Illinois trying to find a way to raise her child on her own and he gave several other examples to show Reagan didn't know what he was talking about.

But I digress; your comment about his grey matter doesn't mean he's not qualified or capable just because you say so. As far as I'm concerned as long as some nut doesn't blow his brains out, if he runs, he will win the Democratic nomination and he will become the next president and deservedly so. But he doesn't deserve to be president because he deserves better just like Al Gore. Gore didn't win and he ended up winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, for what you said about global warming.

Status: offline 		I regret my success in my "Anyone but Hillary" stance, thinking that no one could be worse, and I was off by a factor of 10. I cant see how there can be worse than Obama, unless its a Manchurian Candidate, so I'll lay 3:2 that it isnt the cretin in the White House now.

I'm not interested in anymore selling out like he did with pharmaceutical companies. He had better deliver something substantial on healthcare reform that includes a public option.

The wishy-washy decision on the war isn't good enough either. It's too vague so we could either stay in Afghanistan or leave there's no commitment one way or the other, and as far as I'm concerned that's not good enough because we have wasted too much money and accomplished very little. If you look at Vietnam everything seems to have worked out, so that war wasn't worth it.

Status: offline 		I don't care what kind of bias you have against the Kennedy's because you' re from Massachusetts. The fact is people all across the country love that family. Additionally, Joe Scarborough interviewed on his show and strongly suggested and urged him to run as a candidate because he thought he would be a good candidate and good for the country. I think he strongly implied he would support his candidacy. This occurred around the time Kennedy Junior wrote that article about autism, I think it was in Rolling Stone magazine.

I think Kennedy will be a strong candidate as would Obama but I think Kennedy Junior will be less inclined to sell out on important issues whether it's the military-industrial complex, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, healthcare, pharmaceutical companies, energy policy and on and on and on.

Other good Democratic candidates would be Mario Cuomo, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore and I also happen to like Russ Feingold. That other guy from Florida, the new guy, that Congressman I forgot his name but he's pretty good too and I also would add that other congressmen from Brooklyn I think his last name is Wiener. Those latter two Democrats might be better for vice president candidates. Anyone's better than Lieberman that's for sure.
